I am a very open-minded individual who is definitely more on the extroverted side than otherwise. People of all kinds are interesting to me and, in general, the more (people) in my life, the merrier.

I'd say that I have a pretty well balanced personality---part artist, part businessman, and part intellectual.

I know everyone on OkCupid says something to this effect, but I'm definitely an explorer at heart! In addition to vacations and career-related travel, I've now lived, as an adult, in many different cities along the East Coast.

I also enjoy exercise (in addition to trips to the gym fairly regularly, you can find me biking on the streets of DC to get around) and learning new languages.

Music deserves its own paragraph here. I have a keen appreciation for all different kinds of music. I grew up playing both violin and piano (a bit more serious with the former), and have also sung in choirs, on and off, for many years. I very much appreciate classical music performances, and try to make it to the Kennedy Center or Strathmore (that's in Bethesda, for those not aware) about once a month.

I suppose that, in general, I would say that I really love learning and am full of curiosity about the world around me. Also, if I feel the need to improve myself in an area, I'm resourceful at finding ways to do just that. For instance, earlier this year I began taking some cooking classes to improve my skills in that area. While I'm no Emeril Lagasse quite yet :-), I've definitely begun to bring my skills up a notch!

Either working hard or playing hard...depending on when you catch me.

Careerwise, my days are occupied by trying to shape transportation and energy policy through research and analysis.

- Striking up a conversation with someone I don't know, no matter the venue

- Tracking down the answer(s) to a question that has been on my mind, or perhaps a friend's, no matter how esoteric the topic may be

I'm fairly gregarious.

In terms of my interests, I have a few definite passions.

I like all different kinds of music, including classical, country, '80's, ethnic/international, pop, and much more.

In general I'm not a big movie buff, but I definitely can enjoy a fairly wide variety of films, especially when there's someone else to watch one with.

I like trying all different kinds of food, and in general am very health-conscious about the foods I consume.

Why people do the things they do. With an undergraduate degree in psychology, and a career trying to shape policy, I suppose this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.

If not in such a philosophical mood, then most likely planning my next journey out of town!

There are a several possibilities here. A) Attending some social function---maybe, e.g. dance party or dance lessons, etc. B) Dinner meal with some friends C) If neither A nor B, then I'll likely be found at the local bookstore (following dinner).
