My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Some Random Facts:
- According to OKCupid, I am less trusting, less moral, less romantic, less giving, less friendly, less optimistic, and less sex driven. Doesn't that sound like a winner? Just form an orderly queue, guys.

- I have a cat named Jagger and a dog named Bowie. They're both black and I dress mostly in black, so it's like my apartment has its very own goth clique

- The last 3 things I bought for myself (no food/everyday items):
some horror games from the Steam Halloween sale (Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Among the Sleep, The Novelist, Outlast....), an Arduino starter kit, True Detective on bluray

- I'm learning UX design in school and it's ruined me. I'm constantly announcing "I'm having a poor user experience" whenever I encounter the slightest design flaw

- My pictures are all incredibly old at this point. I'm not really the sort to sit around and take selfies though, so I don't think they're getting updated anytime soon. I think I look mostly the same, maybe not so fresh-faced anymore though
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working full time and going to school full time for web design and trying to teach myself web development in my free time. It doesn't leave a whole lot of time left over.

It has also made me incredibly boring, unless you really have a thing for javascript frameworks. And if you do, message me. I need help.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Giving fake spoilers. I will act like I accidentally let it slip or that I just couldn't contain myself and make up something completely false and usually ridiculous about a movie or tv show. I have to mix in real spoilers on occasion, just to keep people on their toes.

I guess my claim to fame is that I used to make lots of videogame needlepoint (you can see some examples here). I still make one on occasion here and there.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
They don't notice me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

This is the most senseless section, but it's also my favorite. I immerse myself in media like a pig in shit. Let me indulge myself...

Books:
Currently Reading: The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell

Unfortunately, I don't read as much as I should and when I do, it's very scattered, so I don't really have favorite authors or even favorite genres. I'm trying to fix this.

For now, I can say I have read and liked more than one book by the following authors: Neal Stephenson, David Mitchell, Haruki Murakami, Flannery O'Connor, China Mieville, William Faulkner, Kurt Vonnegut, HP Lovecraft

Movies:
10 Random Likes: Mulholland Drive, Shop Around the Corner, Quadrophenia, Bride of Frankenstein, Girl on the Bridge, Chungking Express, Crimes and Misdemeanors, High and Low, Night of the Hunter, Wings of Desire

More Recent Sample: Under the Skin, The Guest, Django Unchained, Drive, Pirates of the Caribbean

TV Shows:
5 Random Likes: Twin Peaks, True Detective, Game of Thrones, Mr Show, Breaking Bad

Don't let my stellar taste fool you. I will mainline shit like Toddlers and Tiaras or Degrassi: TNG if you give me half a chance.

Music:
Genres: Punk, Post-Punk, Britpop, Glam Rock, New wave, Mod, Garage, Classical, Opera

5 Random Likes: The Adverts, The Jam, The Vapors, Psychedelic Furs, The Epoxies

I love music, but I hate talking about it. I don't have the vocabulary for it, I think. The extent of my conversations about music goes "I like that album" or "I don't like those lyrics."

I'm also not currently into seeing shows...I've seen two shows since moving to Austin three years ago (Wire and The Residents, for those of you who want my hipster credentials). After spending a lot of my early 20s seeing shows for bands I'd forget in a year if not later that night, they just seem like a waste of time and money unless it's a favorite all time band that I'll regret not seeing 10 years from now. I'm pretty sure what I just said is a felony in this city, but there it is.

Food:
Meat, Potatoes

Comic Books:
A Random Sample: Hellblazer, Locke and Key, 20th Century Eightball, The Frank Book, The Sandman

Webcomics:
Abominable Charles Christopher, xkcd, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

Comedians:
Louis CK, Mike Birbiglia, Bill Hicks, Steve Martin, John Mulaney, Patton Oswalt

Video Games:
A Random Sample: A Mind Forever Voyaging, Gone Home, The Secret World, The Walking Dead, River City Ransom

I play video games but I don't think of myself as a "gamer". I am terrible at them and I rarely ever play any of them in depth unless I really, really like them.

Podcasts:
Go Bayside, This American Life, Serial, How Did This Get Made?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Right off the top of my head:

Netflix
New England Patriots
Milk Chocolate Digestives
Podcasts
Blind Box Toys
Alamo Drafthouse (I recently went to a Regal to see a movie, walked out and got a refund within two scenes because of all the talking - I think I'm officially crotchety)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What to make/read/watch next.

I've been on something of a self improvement kick lately, so I spend a lot of time coming up with different ways to motivate myself to do something (games, spreadsheets, websites, etc)

Reality TV strategy
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It's Friday night now.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have three ipods: a touch for apps and podcasts, a classic for full albums, and a nano for all the Justin Bieber and kpop singles I don't want polluting my classic. This disgusts me about myself.

I feel terrible when I kill animals in video games, especially if they're cute or make a horrific death scream.

I have answered nearly 4000 OkCupid questions. And I think of it as an achievement.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You probably shouldn't. There's a 98% chance I won't respond, no matter how likeable or friendly your message is. It's nothing personal, I'm just a jerk and whether I respond has more to do with my mood and which device I'm currently using than it has to do with you.

If the circle next to my name isn't blood red, it really should be. If there are people out there that respond to messages less than I do, then they're probably dead.

Don't let my verbose profile fool you: I don't talk much, whether it's IRL or through messaging.
