Hello I am Rita. I'm an almost thirty year old- just starting my career- ready to settle down kindof girl.

-I'm from a big, I mean huge, east Texas family. I am the youngest of 8 kids. I have 6 sisters and 1 brother. My parents are still together. I am lucky in the family department.

-I just moved to Dallas from Denton. I have one roommate named Micheal and we have a pet beta named Little Ricky Garcia. On most nights in, my roommates and I pursue creative endeavours while watching a movie in the background.

-I teach children all day long and it can be stressful. I love teaching kids but it is quite exhausting. On weeknights I just kindof like to chill and I usually go to bed by eleven. On the weekends anything goes. I like seeing live music and I love to dance.

-I like to be as productive as possible. I am a painter and all of my paintings are mathematical and precise. What this means is that It takes me a while to finish a piece. I try to paint everyday for atleast a little while. It helps me think and wind down.

-I love to laugh so funny is definitely a plus. I am pretty outgoing when around people but I can also be very "in my head." I like a good deal of quiet time but also alot of conversation. In a relationship I look for that balance.

-I'm laid back and do not like to get dressed up. I like going out in jeans and my vans with the holes in them (don't hate). Dallas may actually be the wrong place for me in this respect. I just prefer to be comfortable, and that is what works for me. I do not like to shop unless it's for art supplies or something for the apartment. Shocker I know.

-I don't want kids. I don't wear dresses or skirts. I always go dutch. I don't believe in old fashioned values of what a woman is supposed to be. If I meet a man who already has kids that is great. Obviously I like kids or I would not be a teacher. I just don't want to physically have them, not that these hips couldn't handle it.

-I don't have any tattoos or piercings. I not against them in a partner but I think in massive amounts they are a turnoff.

What I am looking for-

Someone funny, intelligent, someone I could talk to all night about everything and nothing. Someone who likes book and good conversation, a coffee drinker. Someone who will make fun of me every once in a while. A guy who will dance, even if he totally sucks. Someone who is like a child at heart, a goofball, a good cook. I'm looking for my best friend. Someone who understands that love is not just about the good times. I prefer bearded guys but if you don't have one it isn't a deal breaker. I would like to meet someone who is as passionate about something as I am about art. I am looking for the "together but seperate" kindof relationship. You do what you do and I do what I do. We don't have to entertain each other constantly. I'm looking for someone who wants to get serious somewhere in the near future. I don't believe in soulmates or fate. Your life is what you make it, and I'm still searching.

I'm an elemenatary art teacher for Dallas ISD. I love to paint... I'm trying to get better about trying to get into art shows and galleries. (I really just want to make the art- not to good about getting it out there.)

I'm a good artist. Not trying to sound pretentious or full of myself... I'm good at getting along with pretty much anyone (except for racists BOO!).

favorite books- non fiction: math and philosophy, fiction:the classics, anything Jane Austen or Victorian. Old English snobbery is the best. Movies- anything funny. Music- a little bit of everything- some favorites: modest mouse, metric, death cab, postal service, portishead, jack johnson, tool, a prefect circle. food-i'm almost but not quite vegetarian. i love mexican food, realy anything cheesy. i love a good salad.
