My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First and foremost, I'm looking to connect. I love meeting people and hearing their stories and their plans and their values.

Maybe those connections turn into friendships or relationships or flings. But who knows? We'll just have to find out.

Okay, but who am I? Well...

I'm a geek, an atheist, a programmer.

I'm far left, a feminist, a Marxist, a vegetarian.

I'm an amateur psychologist and an occasional Buddhist.

Mostly, I think, I'm just someone who wants to hear what you have to say, if you have something you want someone to hear.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working as a software engineer in SF.

Trying to figure out how to have a positive impact on the world. (Suggestions welcome.)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting to important things fast.

Listening.

Spending time with kids.

Being incredibly awkward. Seriously, I have a gift.

Getting into music exactly 6 months after everyone else has stopped caring about it.

Splitting text into lots of paragraphs.

Apparently people notice my reddish beard. I probably could have guessed that...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I love good TV! Some favorite dramas: The Wire, Mad Men, Breaking Bad. Some favorite comedies: Arrested Development, Archer, Broad City, Louie. Some favorite space westerns: Firefly.

I haven't watched as many movies, but I'm slowly trying to catch up on the classics. I like basically everything I've seen from Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson and Woody Allen. (I know, the same things everyone likes.) Also, I love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I love music and listen to a lot. A small sampling of favorite artists: Radiohead, The Mars Volta, of Montreal, The Strokes, Third Eye Blind, Smashing Pumpkins, Kids & Explosions, James Blake, Daft Punk, Justice, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar.

I don't read books as often as I think I should, but when I do, it tends to be non-fiction: psychology, politics, or anything else I want to learn about.

Games: I like poker, Scrabble, Settlers of Catan, Dominion, and most any other cool card/board games. If you know a cool one, recommend it.
The six things I could never do without

One reason I care so much what others find valuable in their lives is that I sometimes am unsure what is valuable in my own.
