I once played an open mic night in England as 'A Yankee and his Ukulele,' and as that might suggest, I'm up to do almost anything once! I've been in Seattle now a couple of years and I have fallen for this city. Despite all of my exploring, it seems I have just seen the tip of the iceburg, with all the eclectic neighborhoods here in the city, and so many great hikes, breweries, lakes, towns, and all sorts of interesting places just a short drive away!

Good company can transform even the most boring excursion into an entertaining time, and I'm looking to find someone who can do just that. I love a night out, but on occasion I definitely enjoy taking it easy and relaxing at home, whether watching a movie or playing board games with friends.

One of the most important things for me, is that a person be genuine. Being honest and owning my decisions and choices is something I strive for personally and so I am looking to find someone who feels the same way. I like charades at least as much as the next guy, but I am looking for a person whose life isn't one.

Beyond compatibility (the intangible, and I expect to know that when I experience it), I'm hoping to find someone who I can trust, and who can help inspire me to be a better person.

I work as a public defender in Tacoma. That means it's my job to represent folks accused of committing crimes, helping ensure that our criminal justice system lives up to our constitutional ideals. It can be a frustrating job (my clients are often incarcerated and always face possible incarceration), but I love it.

Embarassing myself. I am not afraid to make a fool of myself, whether its dancing around like a buffoon or singing karaoke to a song I've never heard before.

I also play a mean game of ping pong, could probably bluff you in a game of poker, and can comfortably hold a conversation with just about anyone.

I'm tall. Then they notice I have a big nose. After that, they tend to recognize I am irresistibly charming, but that usually takes a couple weeks to process.

Couple of my favorite books include: Strong Motion, The Corrections, MiddleSex, and On the Genealogy of Morals. I'm currently reading a People's History of the United States.

My preference is for indie music, and a few of my favorite bands are: Modest Mouse, Alt-J, Devotchka, Frightened Rabbit, Arcade Fire, the Freelance Whales, and Electric President.

Some of my favorite movies are The Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, Amelie, Amores Perros, City of God, I <3 Huckabees, and Lock Stock...

Lately I try to eat a pretty healthy diet. So just about no frozen or processed foods. I also don't usually buy much meat or fish, but when I go out to eat there is pretty much nothing I won't eat.

That said, I do especially like spicy foods, Thai, Sushi, and pies.

The three things I couldn't live without are my family, friends and music. After that, everything is negotiable.

I would however hate to live without...
Sugar, electricity, a washing machine, and my phone.

Why we can't all just get along?

out with my friends at a divey bar. Last Friday it was tailgating the Mariners opening weekend, and before that it was rock climbing followed by rocking out to some karaoke jams.

Actually, those fridays were like circa 2011, so for a 2013 update the last couple fridays were doing SmashPutt with some friends and then before that was karaoke. So typically out, but on occasion I do stay in.

So when I was a kid I had this pet hamster named Tiny. Well, one day, out of the blue he stopped breathing, and so I did the only thing my 10 year old brain could think of, I gave him CPR.
