Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up about 90 minutes from Philadelphia but have lived here
for over a decade, with that time split between two different sides
of town. Despite a few flirtations with moving to other cities, I
feel surprisingly settled here these days.
I work at a museum and do a variety of web and communications
things there. It's mostly pretty great except for the times when
I've been playing soccer for almost 30 years and have been involved
in the soccer community since I moved here. I helped to start one
of the biggest leagues in the city. I was also involved in founding
a soccer website that covers all things soccer in Philadelphia. I
write about the Union a lot, but also seriously cover women's
soccer. (Ask me about the Abby Wambach bar fight some time.) I
still play a few times a week (on good weeks.)
I've gotten really into hiking in the last five years. Most
weekends usually find me in the woods, often in some of the most
remote parts of Pennsylvania. I am good with a map, have a good
sense of direction, and am comfortable not seeing another person
when I head out. I've been seeking out hard to find waterfalls the
last few years. I'm (slowly) writing a book about hiking in
Some random other stuff: I have a cat, want a dog, and just
generally love animals. Your pet will totally like me. I have a car
that I hardly use in the city and prefer to travel by bike. I play
guitar and sing, and though I'm not great at either, I really enjoy
it and don't plan to stop. I'm introverted but not awkward or
anti-social. I like photography but I'm not photogenic.
I guess it's worth noting that I'm still (Jan 15) recovering from a
serious foot injury that has my soccer playing and hiking on a

Getting better at photography but still just mostly excelling at

Despite the rambly mess seen here, I'm a decent writer and an

Probably grabbing a beer at happy hour.
Maybe getting out of town early for the weekend to hike.
