I am loving, perpetually learning, and always growing.

My Self-Summary

I'm a 19 year old Christian male. I'm a political science student. I take my faith very seriously, but I am by no means some sort of judging person who refuses to associate with those who aren't Christians. I'm still growing in my faith, too. Besides that, I'm really into politics and art. I've got a bit of an immature sense of humor, not gonna lie. I am into social justice and I'd like to find a career that betters the lives of others, in some shape or form.

I'm a lover at heart. Call it idealistic, call me a pansy. Lol, I guess it kind of fits, but I'm determined to see the best in everyone. Sometimes that's easy, sometimes it can be tough.

I am blessed with great friends and a wonderful (if at times, mildly dysfunctional :P) family. They are my support network, and anything positive that I've accomplished or will accomplish is because of them.

I like people. Meeting people, helping people, being helped by people, sharing meals or coffee or stories or family photos. I love to take the bus to the city with my friends and just spend all day, dawn til dusk, with the homeless. Generally, they truly know what is important. I love them.

What I’m doing with my life

At Acadia University taking political science and history. I do some journalism with the paper here, and am in a few other extra-curricular activities, such as youth group. Just focusing on studies I guess.

I'm not sure what field I would like to go into after school. I'd like to find work with an NGO or charity, if possible, or maybe pursue a full-time career in journalism.

I’m really good at

I'm pretty empathetic, though sometimes that isn't always a good thing. I've been told I am a good writer, and I really do enjoy journalism and blogging and things of that nature.

I've been told I'm a good listener. I guess I am.

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes, everyone compliments my eyes. They're pretty cool I guess.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I like non-fiction I guess. I don't really read for pleasure much any more. Readings for school just take up so much time, and while the books are interesting, I don't really have time to soak them up as much as I'd like. Paranormal and ghost stories are kinda fun.

Movies: Fight Club, The Dark Knight, Anchorman, Gran Torino. I love the Star Wars series (yep, nerd.) I'm not a stuck-up Star Wars purist who hates the new/prequel trilogy either. The new Star Wars movies have some of the best lightsaber duels ever, don't hate, people.

Music: Bloc Party, Meg and Dia, Bedouin Soundclash, John Mayer, The Killers, Kutless, Joel Plaskett Emergency, Kanye West, Immanuel Jal, M.I.A., Matisyahu, Sufjan Stevens, Welcome Wagon.

Basically anything mellow, be it indie, rock, pop, hip hop, gospel.

Food: Spicy foods. Mexican, Indian.

TV: I know it didn't ask for TV, but whatever. I watch a lot, probably too much. Supernatural, 30 Rock, Flight of the Conchords, Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, cooking shows.

The six things I could never do without

Jesus, friends/family, Politics, Laptop/Internet, Books, Beaches/mountains/nature trails.

Yes, I realize I cheated by combining slightly similar things. Sue me!

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Oh, such random stuff. The future, I guess?

On a typical Friday night I am

Out with some friends or kicking back doing some reading for school. My friends and I have this weird thing where we go for drives at obscenely late (or early, technically) hours. It's fun.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I think it's lame that I'm on here. :/
