My self-summary
Hello! So, first things first: I am married to OhhhhhDear. We have a happy, healthy, sane, open marriage. (and i stole that from her)
I am 6 year resident of NC, A transplant from PA, and I never thought I'd be happy to call the south my home but i am.

I enjoy meeting new people and luring them in to my basement...no wait...what site is this again? Board games... board games not basement. I am sort of a nerd but it generally does not reach out and grab you.
I work in IT at a university in the area. I have a home leatherworking business. I make bracelets, bags, some clothes but mostly armor and a few other items. I'd love to meet new crafty people, fellow yardsale pillagers or an interesting soul to grab coffee with.
What I’m doing with my life
Zeroing in on a plan for self improvement in between resetting passwords. Planning trips to Europe. Finding really novel ways to get in some cardio. ( i take traditional German longsword instruction on the weekends and Spin through the week). READING, no..not for a class. Putting together Go bags. cutting leather, sewing leather, gluing leather. Furnishing.
I’m really good at
Constructing, but not so much at measuring. Making fairly inappropriate/out of date jokes. Setting gender roles on fire. Spotting bullshit and making a clean escape. costuming. packing light. decluttering.
The first things people usually notice about me
big smile, full laugh, odd t-shirt.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
Ready Player One, Song of Ice and Fire series, lots of comic books, The Walking Dead, The First Law Series, Finch, Joe Abercrombie, Charles Stross, Warren Ellis, Burroughs, Jack Vance, Matt Fraction, Grant Morrison, Alan Moore.

Movies:
in no order:
Looper, Barbarella, Children of Men, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Conan the Barbarian the old one, this is necessary for leather/metalwork, The Producers the old one as well, The Incredibles, Flash Gordon, Cabin in the woods, Avengers, Ed Wood, pretty much anything with Bill Murray, Sam Rockwell or David Bowie in it. I liked Prometheus and didn't really care for any of the modern Dark Knight films, so there.

Shows:
Game of Thrones, a few early seasons of Dexter, The Walking Dead especially @ Motorco on their big screen, Adventure Time, both series of Avatar, Parks and Recreation, Sherlock

Music:
Umm..let's do wide strokes, shall we?
Disco Electro, Postrock, 90's College Rock, Fuzzy Rock, some Surf Anything that could be in the soundtrack of a Fallout game, Retro Metal, Indie folk, anything i shake my fool ass too, Mashups, atmospheric stuff.

Food:
yes. make it spicy and meaty, or dainty and flowery. To be honest my lovely wife OhhhhhDear and i are starting Whole30 and will be moving to either Paleo or Keto after, whatever works. I really only dislike raw tomatoes, excessive onions and weird textures.
The six things I could never do without
retro science fiction

Crom

velvet paintings

Boots and aviators

Peppermint Butler

Tina from Bob's Burgers

p.s. this question kind of annoys me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately? Camping, primitive skills training , planning vacations abroad.
On a typical Friday night I am
either thinking ...why the hell did we plan EVERYTHING tonight. or. Why the hell didn't we plan ANYTHING tonight? I am a big fan of Rigsbee street in durham. One of the, what is it now, 5 bars on Rigsbee generally has something going on.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My Bear BFF once told me that i am the cattiest straight man he knows. I sing the Peaches part of Kick It with my wife. She sings Iggy's part.
Also, i will judge you by your shoes.
