My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
As one of these OKC tests puts it, I'm a "Cool, Modern Nerd." "The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgeable and always the person to call in a crisis."

My mind is that of a scientist, but have the heart of a romantic, I care more about others than I do myself, and am always looking to improve myself - with a current emphasis on being more outgoing and witty.

Education wise, I have a Physics degree (which started out as a Physics Education degree), have had a taste of grad school, and may go back for some more - though it may not be physics related.

I am a strong proponent of people taking mental health seriously. The general social stigma that is often associated with it makes me ashamed to be a human being. Your brainmeat is just as important as your body!...meat.

I have a lazy corgi dog named Butter. She is adorable.

I've seen this on more than a couple profiles, so here's mine: INTJ

Also: Skip down to "The first things people notice about me" section. I've never liked any real details in that section, so I wrote a description instead.
Take that OkCupid layout.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've become recently single (late August) and am excited to have new adventures with new people.

I'm currently working a decent computer based job. It's cushy and relatively low-stress, which is nice while I organize other elements of my life [like a relationship ;)].

Every now and then I help out some of the local gaming shops, organizing and judging tournaments.

As for the future, I used to be a high school teacher, and am toying around with the idea of going back to that, doing something in the sciences, or seeing where my current job takes me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Math, Science, and all that critical thinking stuff.
Massages. Any way you want it. That's the way you need it.
Cuddling. Like a Boss.
Strategic games. Board games, card games, video games, you name it, I'm there.
Becoming new best friends with this animal I just met.

I feel like I come off as a Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Big Bang Theory) from a parallel universe. In this universe he doesn't get as far in his education, things don't go as perfect as in TV Land, but does learn some extra social skills along the way. Eventually he turns into a slacker-nerd commonly portrayed in 90's tv and movies.
... And hopefully not as annoying.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Naming names is like picking a favorite child, it only works if you have one, buuuut here we go anyway:

Books: My favorite author is H.P. Lovecraft - but to be honest most of my reading is limited to daily articles and forums (i.e. Reddit).

Movies: I love well written and campy comedy movies that have plenty of satire mixed in. I appreciate any well made movie though.
Dr. Strangelove, The Evil Dead Trilogy, Fight Club, The Descent, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Kick-Ass, Anchorman, Hot Rod, James and the Giant Peach, Office Space, Shaun of the Dead, SLC Punk, UHF, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Mars Attacks!, Pan's Labyrinth, Harold and Maude.

Music: "Mello Alternative" - Pixies, The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, The Weakerthans, Motion City Soundtrack, Hot Hot Heat, Ok Go, Bloc Party, Daft Punk, The Raconteurs, Less Than Jake, Metric, Tegan & Sara, The Mountain Goats, All Time Low, Stars.

Food: Really just about anything that has been seasoned well - although I have been eating healthier and losing weight, so maybe not quite anything after all. As long as it's not a recipe Paula Deen would make, we should be good. Pasta and seafood stand out at the top of the list though.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Keys, phone, wallet - The mantra of leaving the house.

A pet - I love animals, and couldn't imagine living without one.

The Internet - The best series of tubes ever created.

Someone to talk to and have human contact with - This is where you come in :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how to make my life more organized, efficient, and an overall more enjoyable time on this Earth.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually tagging along somewhere, even if that somewhere is just hanging out watching Netflix. It's fun to get out and go to something that's pulsing with energy, but it's just as important to me to enjoy the calm, relaxing moments with those that are close to you.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

My favorite animal is the majestic moose.
I occasionally thank gravity for existing.
I own a rubber band ball the size of a bowling ball.
I like to think of myself as a gentleman - Ladies first. (if you don't get it immediately, re-read the title of this section)
I'm like a piñata, strike up a conversation to crack me open more tasty secret nuggets will fall out.

I sound interesting. Seems self-explanatory to me, I'm confused on why this box is even here.
Also, if you read this whooole thing without skipping to the end. This profile is a beast!
Seriously though, go for it!
