My Self-Summary
Hello!
I love being outside and doing almost anything that involves the outdoors: hiking, swimming, whitewater rafting, camping, etc. My new apartment has a huge balcony, and I can't wait to get a nice comfy chair to just sit out in the fresh air and read a book!
I also love photography. I have three cameras (my dad's old Minolta 101, a Nikon D40, and a Nikon S210) right now, and I'm really excited to have more free time to use them!
I'm glad to be done with school so I can work on my cooking skills! I can make a mean chicken and pasta dish, but I want to learn some new recipes so I can be more creative with my cooking.

What I’m doing with my life
I finished my masters degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education
at IUP in May, and I
am working at Alvernia University as the Assistant Director of
Student Activities. I'm excited that the semester is well under way
and I'm beginning to settle into my new job as well as get to know
my students better.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at making people feel comfortable around me. I am
really good at communicating (go figure, my undergrad was
communications media!), and people just tend to open up to me. I
can't tell you how many conversations I've had where at the end the
other person said "Wow... I can't believe I just told you all that!
I've never told anyone that before."
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes: they're usually bright blue, but sometimes they can be
more teal or gray depending on the weather, my clothes, my mood,
etc.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I don't think I could even start with books... I'm seriously
considering shutting off my cable at the end of my 6 month special
and just reading more books. Barbara Kingsolver and Alice Sebold
are a couple of my favorite authors. I also love true crime
books.
Movies I own: Pirates of the Caribbean, American Pie 1,2,&3, Bruce Almighty, Seven, American Beauty, Amelie, Chicago, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and some others.
Music: Sara Bareilles, Colbie Callait, Maroon 5, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Eric Hutchinson, and Matt Nathanson are a few of my current favorites. And I'll pretty much listen to anything live.

Where my journey will take me in the next 3-5 years now that I'm done with school... it's totally bizarre to rediscover what things I'm interested in after spending 6 years in a row totally focused on college related things.

I love my career choice, but sometimes I REALLY miss being a camp
counselor out in the sunshine every day, and I wonder if I would be
even happier if I had pursued that career instead of the one I have
now.
