Rockets, race cars, and risotto? These are all things that I am liable to be tangling with on a regular basis. Finally out of GT and working in a job that I surprisingly love, given that it's literally not rocket science. I try and live an interesting life, and am generally not one for saying no to trying something new. There are always new things to experience, and I'm always looking for new challenges.
As far as things that I enjoy, here's a short list, in no particular order:
Racing: I autocross with the Sports Car Club of America, which is my big hobby nowadays. Basically, it's driving around a course laid out in pylons for fastest time. Also, go karts :)
Astronomy: Gazing at the universe is awesome. Here's a couple fun facts. 1) We're all literally made of stardust, as many of the heavier elements in our bodies was created by supernovae. 2) Give hydrogen enough time, and it will eventually start to think about its own existence.
Hi-Fi audio/video: Good picture and sound really completes the experience, for movies and/or music. I also like building my own electronics and audio gear.
Physics and Relativity: "Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity." - Albert Einstein
Formula 1: The pinnacle of motorsport, and most expensive sport on Earth. This ain't yo pappy's NASCAR.
Food: Food is good. Good food is amazing. Amazing food cannot be described in words. Sushi is one of my favorites. Also, go watch "Jiro Dreams of Sushi". No really, go watch it now. Chipotle; their burritos and guacamole rock! Chipotle peppers are pretty awesome too.
Space Travel and rockets: One of my goals in life is to help increase access to space. I look forward to the day when we have a permanent base on the Moon and beyond. I've taken apart, assembled, fueled (liquid oxygen is cold!) and helped test liquid fueled rockets. Making supersonic hot flamey stuff come out the bottom is pretty damn neat.
Technical Theater: Mostly lighting design and electrical work, but I've been known to act once in a blue moon or two.
Trebuchets: As far as I know, I've built the largest one in Ohio...
That's a good start. I love talking about any of those, so if you feel compelled to strike up a conversation, be my guest! I'd be glad to reciprocate.
I am passionate, inquisitive, and adventurous
