My self-summary
I'm currently attending Graduate school at Florida State University, and have already done more than 40 credits in International Affairs and Urban and Regional Planning pursuing a Masters Degree. I should ultimately leave at the end of summer 2014 with two Masters, assuming things go to plan.

Mostly I write on my free time, blogging once or twice a week about random things, I post most of those thoughts in the Journal section of this sight. Or did post most of the things on the journal section of OkCupid, I haven't done that in a while though I still write.
If you want to read what I write, here is my blog: http://rocketboy1313.blogspot.com/

I am trying to spend more time with friends, working out, and reading. My grander goals are slow to progress, but I feel that much of the groundwork for them is well set down, and that I am making the limited progress I can with the resume I have built in life.

I am whimsical, easy going, and gentlemanly
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I am a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in political science and a focus on international relations, I hope to do something impressive with it but right now pursuing even higher education through Grad school. Getting a graduate degree and continuing to work on my writing opens me up to numerous possibilities in the future.

I've also attended the Sarasota Criminal Justice Academy, though that has since proved to be not my best fit, I was unhappy with the work that followed.

I like going other places in the world. I have been to China, Greece, Turkey, England, and Canada (that last one was more exotic than you would think because Toronto has one of the biggest Asian districts in the Western hemisphere and I was staying next to it for most of the journey). I plan to go to more places, though I have no idea how I will swing that as I have burned my savings (on the Turkey, Greece, England travels previously mentioned).
I’m really good at
What has really seized my interest of late is writing, and I loathe the idea that I might not be able to keep up with it losing time to my career pursuits.

Arguments and debate, I find just ping-ponging talk back and forth across a table to be dull, but most people I try and enter into a real discussion with just call me a know it all. Really, I like to argue more out of a desire to learn rather than win or show people up, really need to start giving that disclaimer before assaulting someone's personal beliefs (they don't always know it is a game).

Speaking English, I have a flabbergasting manner of speech, that has been described as confusing, rhythmic, and many other times it has been seen as just droll and funny (and then there is that large number who can't understand how a guy who knows the word tchotchke can make so many low brow jokes when the occasion calls for it).

I also do weight lifting and gaming.

I usually spend fewer and fewer hours a week playing video games, and hopefully I can start to put more in at the gym.
The first things people usually notice about me
It depends on the environment, within classrooms I am very dominate and ask a lot of questions, and I also crack a lot of jokes. My regular life varies, I can play cocky, domineering, annoying, eccentric, or robotic depending on everything from time of day to the amount of sleep I have had. I like to compliment people I think look good and I like to talk to people about ideas, so if I were to start a conversation I think it would be peppered with jokes about history rather than reality TV.

If you are going by physical appearance alone though, I would have to say my height, I tend to stand over my friends.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My Top 5 Books are in order: "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman, "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card, "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkein, "Life, The Universe, and Everything" by Douglas Adams, and "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins.
Non-fiction: "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell and "Bias" by Bernard Goldberg (before he went mental).
Currently reading: The "Game of Thrones" series (nearly finished with "Feast for Crows")

My top ten movies, this is not really in order, and it can change from time to time: "Fight Club", "The Incredibles", "LA Confidential", "Good Will Hunting", "Serenity", "The Departed", "The Avengers", "Chinatown", "The Dark Knight", and "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington".

Favorite TV shows of all time, also tricky: "The West Wing", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Star Trek: Deep Space 9", "The Daily Show", "Doctor Who", and "Parks and Rec".

Music is even more difficult because I mostly listen to top 40, but if I had to pick a personal top 5: "Imagine" by John Lenin, "Breaking the Habit" by Linkin Park, "Handlebars" by Flobots, "Wonderwall" by Oasis, and I guess "Lithium Flower" by Scott Matthew. (My favorite music videos are "Call on Me" and "Get a Grip") More recent stuff is all seemingly in the top 40 with "Radioactive", "Can't Hold Us", and "Lights"; I am not overwhelmingly consistent on musical taste.

For food, I like sandwiches, and soup, and I lack the culinary appreciation to not enjoy many things.
The six things I could never do without
My family (though living at home has taught me the value of away time and the quality of short but well desired visits).
My friends (who as I have mentioned before are rather numerous, but fractured).
My books (sitting half finished in stacks all around me).
My games (I know that making a hobby of gaming detracts from learning real skills, but honestly, I have enough skills, and want to waste some time).
My free time (oh for the days of college when this was in great supply).
My snappy sense of humor (without it I am but a hollow shell of a human being).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Writing, My friends, and my future academic career. I also tend to cast a lot of spare thought toward those around me, I like to make my friends laugh, and that can take some fore thought. (I realize now that I am over selling the humor thing, I'm witty, not a clown, so if you flat out expect me to be funny, I will more often than not come off as annoying).
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching a movie, playing a video game, writing a little, and snacking the entire time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I play Dungeons and Dragons and video games. I also read comic books. I am a total geek. Though that isn't really private it is just not something people expect.;
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–30
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
If you think a good party is a half dozen friends watching movies and having pizza.
If you like a guy with a mind that is busy thinking about things that are not at all useful but sometimes funny (and often times useful too).
If you want someone in the area to hang out with, cause really I would like to have some friends in the area rather than an hour's drive away in any direction.
