I am here, there, and everywhere.
My Self-Summary
Welcome to my profile!
I'm apparently very changeable - I just returned back from Seattle
after having moved there a month ago. I guess that makes me a
flake. I suppose I most closely line up with the geek stereotype,
though I'm also more than just a one-word stereotype.
So, what am I? I'm both a fighter and a lover. I'm an alpha and a
beta and an omega. I am a pessimist and an optimist. I am mutable,
but I'm also stubborn. I am a paradox, but a few things remain
consistent. I am a dreamer, and when I'm doing well I will chase
that dream down unto the end of the earth...if it is appropriate
and courteous to do so.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to find a job (note: if someone reading this is in the
computer/console gaming industry, I'm an experienced designer and
QA guy who's looking!) and to reestablish myself socially.
I’m really good at
Being sincere
Writing sonnets
Public speaking and acting
Singing
Knowing a little bit about many things and being able to hold a
conversation about whatever
Letting my curiosity take hold when I don't know about something
and find out about it
Kissing
Being courteous
Surprising people with what I am capable of
...and...*ahem*...yes, sex
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm actually not sure anymore - perhaps my presence? When I'm "on"
I can get people's attentions very easily. I think my eyes are
pretty noticeable, also - they change color.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Authors/Works: Shakespeare, Arthur Conan Doyle, any poetry with a
strong meter (but especially dramatic works), George R. R. Martin,
Stephen Brust, Neil Gaiman, Harry Turtledove, William Gibson, Alan
Moore, Art Spiegelman...a lot more. Reading is good!
Movies: Lord of the Rings, Ladyhawke, Conan the Barbarian, Star
Wars...gosh, other stuff too, but it's not popping into my head at
the moment and I only brought a small selection of DVDs out with
me
TV: Babylon 5, Firefly, Lost, House, Star Trek (but not really past
Voyager - I wasn't so much a fan of that or of Enterprise)
Music: Musicals (of which, I'd have to put my favorites as Les
Miserables, Man of La Mancha, and Jekyll and Hyde as my favorites,
but I like a lot more than that), Classic Rock (The Police and Dire
Straits are my favorites in that genre), Progressive Rock (Rush!),
Classical (Holst, Wagner, and Grieg among my favorites there),
Soundtracks (Star Wars and other Williams scores, Braveheart,
Dragonheart), Celtic/English Folk (Loreena McKennit, Tannahill
Weavers, Steeleye Span, Tempest), New Age (Christopher Franke, Ed
Van Fleet, Enya)
Food: Pasta, ice cream, and chocolate cream pie (though I know that
this is not very healthy, so it's now how I always eat)
The six things I could never do without
My computer
My car
A pair of comfortable hiking boots
Hope
Affection
Loyalty
(Ha! Weren't expecting the switch from literal to figurative in the
middle, eh? Though, I should note that I do not actually rank my
car above hope in my scale of needs.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately, I think about how to find a job and what social circles to
involve myself in.
On a typical Friday night I am
Nothing's typical yet. Care to make any suggestions?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I believe in true love.
You should message me if
If you're a gamer geek in the area, I'd very much like to hear
about what's around, especially in terms of larps.
If you'd like to hear my story, I'd be more than willing to share
it.
If you'd like to meet someone who'd like to sing and howl at the
moonlight and be a little crazy sometimes...well, I've been a
lunatic (of the good sort) a bit.
Or if you're just interesting and think I am - well, it never hurt
to send a message over and see where it might go.
This much I promise - if you message me (and you're not obviously a
bot) I will reply.
