I am now working at an American University in the Turks an Caicos Islands. I am the overall site manager and I have lots to do often. But I do plan to get up Knoxville way as much as I can.

Before that I was working in Haiti but I broke my leg mid December and I'm in the Knoxville area for a couple months for rehab.

I'm from Athens, TN. But I have lived and worked in the Republic of Guinea. I was out of the country for just under four years. I then worked in Haiti for a hospital.

I was Peace Corps Volunteer in Guinea. I've finished my service and then I was a HIV/AIDS Prevention Program manager.

I've seen a lot in my short time here. Poverty, a loving and amazing culture, drumming, dancing, and what a revolution looks like first had. It's been real and it's been fun. I wouldn't trade it for gold.

Want to know anything about applying to the Peace Corps or Francophone Africa fire away I'm an open book.

I work on just about anything. I tinker with stuff all the time, I'm never out of arms reach of some kind of tool. If it's broke I can fix it.

I'm not very good at this mess.

I'm also not in my best shape ever. I'm going to the gym and cutting out all the junk I eat and drink. But I've got a good plan and it's doing a great job so far.

International Development work.

Working on things, fixing diesel engines, fixing cars, problem solving, making people laugh. And stating the obvious.

Humor and my eyes.

A. William Gibson novels, Palahunik books, Reference stuff (I have a lot of advanced mathematics texts and no idea why), zombies, hard sci-fi.

B. Lots of stuff, but I'm a couple years behind on movies. Invictus was great. Mostly anything, been on a cheesy 80's movie kick of late.

C. CAKE, Old Crow Medicine Show, AC/DC, Stevie Wonder, Moby, Billy Joel, Dawn Penn, Easystar All-stars, Pink Floyd, Townes Van Zandt, old rap, really just about anything.

D. Not too particular. Rice and Sauce. I'll eat just about anything you put in front of me, but I love spicy stuff, lots of 'ethnic' foods cause they are spicy. Chicken salad sandwich on wheat with a touch of spicy mustard is my standard lunch. I also cook pretty well, I can make just about anything from scratch but pasta and some breads. But every now and then I need a schwarma, and there's only one good place in Knoxville for schwarma.

Why I have rich man's hobbies on a poor man's paycheck.

Recovering from a hard day at the gym which is usually quite empty on a Friday. Or maybe at a show, not too plugged into the live show scene anymore but I know some people who are.
