My self-summary
Hi, my name is Stijn and I'm not an alcoholic. Always a good start I figure.

Other than that, I'm a big nature lover. That comes down to loving big hikes, taking pictures, holidays just for nature ... experiencing the outdoors would probably sum it up nicely.

What's also important in my life is science, more specifically geography and climatology. For me it's really interesting to try and understand how the world works.

Lastly, maybe also important to mention my love for exotic food. You'll have to try my curry dishes :)
What I’m doing with my life
I just moved back home from Leuven, but right now I'm still finishing my studies in climatology. I don't know very well yet where it will bring me in the future, maybe again to New Zealand, because I simply loved the place and there are good job opportunities in my field. But then again, I could perhaps also find something interesting here. Interesting choices ahead.
I’m really good at
Having deep coversations ... just seriously. Give me a good topic and I can talk with you for hours. That being said, maybe also give me sign when to stop. And when I say sign, I don't mean a slap in the face, I can read body language, usually ...
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I might be a bit nervous and quiet at first when you meet me. But well, that's just a first impression.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Important things first: food! I generally like the mediterranean types of food (Spanish, Italian, ...). But also Mexican, Asian ... and then trying to cook it myself, sometimes it works, other times ...

And the rest ... I don't really like the long lists. Let's just keep it to some of the people I find inspiring: Richard Dawkins, Wes Anderson, Jon Krakauer, the Dewaele brothers. Well, maybe any of these names mean anything to you. Take it as a conversation starter and let's just find out if that works.
The six things I could never do without
Does it have to be six? Because I can do without a lot, I'm not craving for that last new iPhone. Though maybe it does look pretty good ...

So, what can I not do without ... Some basic freedom, being in a new country to explore by myself is like being in heaven.

And maybe one other important thing, my laptop. No Apple, but still handy to keep informed about everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most often I would be at home I guess. I'm not a person who goes out a lot. You can possibly find me in a nice pub having a good conversation though.

But in good company, I can get dragged along to almost anything. You'll just have to be a bit persuasive ... or try and take me to a place like Maastricht. I would still like to get to know that city (which is so close to me) more.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The little kid in me totaly adores themeparks and I can be a little geek about it. As I don't get many people along, I just wonder if they have any clue of what they are missing ... Are you also missing out on the fun?
You should message me if
you like what you read and want to start a conversation, that's really all it generally takes, right?
