My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like iced coffee and quirky modern art. I don't like socks on my feet or pennies. I have a white albino cat with one green eye and one blue, which makes it very difficult to own black pants.

I was born in Canada, moved to Georgia when I was nine, but I still say "about" funny. That just won't go away. I lived in China for a year where I taught English. It was a weird place, and that many people living so close together drives everybody slowly insane.

If I don't get out of the house every day I have trouble falling asleep because the day didn't feel real. I wonder if anybody else feels like that.

I have a nagging feeling that there's something out there that's awesome that I haven't tried yet, which leads me to all kinds of strange situations.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working for a company that's developing a tablet based school curriculum. I was a teacher. This job is much better.

Other than that, I try to fill my existential angst with hobbies and physical activity.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Swimming, I guess. I'm not fast or anything, but most of my favorite things involve water in some way. It boggles my mind how people don't know how to swim. That makes 70% of the worlds surface immediately deadly. I don't like those odds.
The first things people usually notice about me

I grow a pretty good beard. It's shapely and fairly thick. I keep it trimmed, since I'm a young professional and all that, but I think it's a testament to how well Canadians everywhere grow beards.

It frames my face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Well that's a big question. I recently read Blindness by Jose Saramago, which was awesome. I'm reading "A Short History of Everything" by Bill Bryson to get my nonfiction fix in. I'm a big sci-fi nut, so anything by Vonnegut or Bradbury.
Movies, let's see. I love all the Pixar movies. Wall0E probably being my favorite. Edward Scissorhands always gets me sentimental. Die Hard remains the best action movie of all time. I'm a big Star Wars guy, except for those things that came out around 10 years ago.
Shows, time to display my nerd plumage. I love cartoons like Avatar and Young Justice. I have no idea why cartoons click with me, but they certainly do. I also like FX series like Justified, and of course, Game of Thrones.
Music, The older I get, the more OK I get with shitty pop music. I think it's supposed to go the other way, but Kelly Clarkson puts me in a good mood. Otherwise, I think the rise of Adele and Florence and the Machines is a great direction for music to go in. They can actually sing!
Food, I like interesting food. Thai has a way of mixing flavors in unexpected ways, which I appreciate. Sushi is also a personal favorite.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The news. Total news junkie.
Sandwiches. So simple. So delicious.
The beach and pools.
Movie theaters.
An unbridled sense of wonder.
My hands. I'm good with my hands. I have no idea what I would do without them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How lucky I am. This world is a very cool place. There are soft beds, excellent tasting hamburgers, and planes that can take me to the other side of the world in a day. I need to help build this world, or else I'm just being a total mooch to the human race that has created such a kickass place. I don't believe in any kind of cosmic karma or morality based afterlife, but I do think I owe it to everyone that came before me to help those that will come after me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Last Friday I was scoring a new personal best in frisbee golf. Then, some friends and I drank booze and played boardgames. I know right; so wild!

What can I say? I like drinking booze and playing obscure board games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I want to be in a good mood, I put on some Blink 182, or some other millennial faux punk band. I bounce around and get happy.

You're anything like Marion from "Raiders of the Lost Arc." She's pretty much my dream girl except for being fictional and existing in the 1930's.
