i worry about this one. my best (male) friends take this sort of thing VERY seriously. it's a test i feel i might fail by taking one single wrong turn. i am not someone inclined towards making mental lists and keeping track of things i like and/ or that will at least make me sound interesting. i am also excessively eclectic. i have a terrible memory and am probably forgetting half the good stuff. i have already forgotten why i love most of these things although i definitely remember that i do (esp. true for the films, which i forget the minute i see them - i can watch entire films twice without realising it). so take this as a word of warning if you are planning to challenge me on any of these.

but well, here goes:

everything by pedro almodovar (apart from a few of the new ones)
some early passolini
most films by robert altman
cassavetes: opening night and others
some early woody allen
the idiots
donnie darko
half nelson
out of rosenheim
wilbur wants to kill himself
die unberührbare

the sopranos & the simpsons

bob dylan
cat power
serge gainsbourg
sugar pie desanto
tony joe white
michael jackson
