I'm sick of being single. I am at a point in my life where I want
to share it with someone. Someone to find new things with, travel
with, and occasionally sit about and do nothing with.
I'm a bit of a nerd, a bit weird, a bit odd, but all me all the
time. I have a startling memory for pop-culture references. I'm
fiercely loyal to the people and things that are important to me,
I'd do anything for my friends.
I'm into science, circus skills, archery, computer gaming,
travelling, reading, teaching, and a few other things. Plus if
anything new comes along I'll have a go at that; at least once.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated from Leeds University, I've spent 2 years working,
setting up a business, and travelling. Then I trained as a science
teacher, again at Leeds University, and now I'm into my third year
as a teacher of physics. It's a tough job but I'm enjoying it
immensely. Previous jobs have left me hugely bored. This one never
does; I'm often stressed or tired or exasperated, but I'm never
In between teaching I'm performing with several different groups.
These include circus troupes, fire spinning troupes, community
groups, rave organisers, bands, and make-up boutiques. The skills I
bring to the table include juggling, diabolo spinning,
firebreathing, staff spinning, whip cracking, fire performing,
balloon modelling, and teaching.
Through these groups (and some solo projects) I do performances,
workshops, experience days, night clubs, festivals, music gigs, and
promotions. It's a very exciting time to be in the entertainment
I’m really good at
Archery, physics, juggling, unicycling, diabolo, staff spinning,
whip cracking, fire breathing, cooking, thinking fast, devil
sticks, and I suppose teaching now as well...
Oh, and magic tricks.
The first things people usually notice about me
He's a bit off the wall, a bit odd, but lovable none-the-less.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Well I love to read a lot of things, but I especially like
sci-fi and fantasy. So, Tolkien, Hitchhicker's Guide, Discworld,
David Gemmel, Terry Brookes, Orson Scot Card etc.
Movies: Again it's hard to pick favorites, I like western,
gangster, sci-fi, martial art, fantasy, comedy, and action.
Music: A little bit less varied here, I lean strongly towards rock
(in most of its complex forms, particulary progressive). Old stuff
is usually better but modern music often creates a few real gems.
In the right circumstances I enjoy anything that fits the mood.
Food: I love to cook. On occasions when I read recipe books I do so
not for recipes, but for inspiration, and then I tend to make my
own up. I particularly enjoy duck and most kinds of seafood.
The six things I could never do without
Friends, family, comedy, hobbies, free time, and good food.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anything and everything, the curse of a mind that I can't shut
On a typical Friday night I am
Chilling out with friends. Either that or out spinning fire for fun
and profit. Or taking a well deserved night off, chilling out and
watching a film. Certainly having a night of, I self-enforce Friday
as a night-off from work; anything that needs doing can wait 'til
after a night's sleep and a lie-in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not generally willing to admit anything to strangers on the
internet. But if you message me and want a secret then I might just
give one out...
You should message me if
You want to know more, preferably in person.
