I am Capable, Practical, and Libidinous.
My Self-Summary
I have a job, and it pays for me to do stuff I actually enjoy. That
stuff includes riding my
motorcycles,
photography,
cooking,
making things to wear and use,
listening to/obsessing about
music, going to shows,
reading, watching
live theater,
talking, being
outdoors,
karaoke, and
partying.
Someone once told me he thought it was unbearably hot that I'm an
incredibly girly girl that drinks and swears like a sailor. It was
both flattering and accurate.
I'm looking to date gentlemen I find attractive and interesting...
Let's figure out if we're of like mind. I spent some time doing
lots of short-lived things after my last bad breakup, and I'm
pretty over it at this point... I'm ultimately looking for
something exclusive and long-term to share all the fun this short
life has to offer.
What I’m doing with my life
Always trying to enjoy it, no matter the circumstances.
I will say that owning a home is seriously testing my capability to
face everything with a smile, though I'm happy to report I'm still
winning.
I’m really good at
knitting, smart-assery, cooking, kissing, drinking, doting on those
i love, 30 mph right-hand curves, dissecting pop culture in
conversation, straight-facing really outlandish jokes...
The first things people usually notice about me
my eyes, my tattoos, the volume of my voice (loud, especially when
enthusiastic), the volume of my laugh (REALLY loud), my sharp
tongue.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Go look at my last.fm profile... That should answer pretty much
everything by way of music, or at least should give you a decent
idea of whatever i'm currently obsessing over. It changes
constantly!

confused with Any Given Sunday),

talk about these types of things... i thought it was a BRILLIANT
take on the genre).
I love, love, LOVE going to the drive-in to watch terrible movies.
I forgot just how much I love it until I went and saw GI Joe and
Transformers II over the summer. Nothing makes a terrible movie
better than cigarettes, booze, and the ability to yell at the
screen with my closest friends.
I purposefully enjoy television (no cable or antennae or even a TV
set so i have to download what i watch) such as
The Mighty Boosh,
Breaking Bad,
24,
Mr Show,
The West Wing, and a few
others.
I love
Chuck
Klosterman,
Eric Schlosser (I am ALWAYS down
to talk about the principles discussed in
Reefer Madness. If you haven't
read it, do it now),
C.S. Lewis,
Brett Easton Ellis,
The "His Dark
Materials" trilogy,
Ray Bradbury and TONS of other
40s-60s era science fiction (especially short stories),
Neil Gaiman,
David Sedaris,
Yevgeny
Zamyatin...
I recently read Nathan Rabin's book
The Big Rewind, which I thought
was absolutely brilliant and funny and heartbreaking. I'm a huge
fan of the Onion A.V. Club, and was surprised by the intimacy and
beauty found in the autobiography of the guy that writes the "My
Year of Flops" column.
I'm reading
Sophie's World in an effort to
address the gap in my knowledge base surrounding philosophy. Given
the breadth of said gap, YA fiction seems like an appropriate place
to start.
I'm reading
The Right Stuff because I'm kind
of queer for aeronautics, military pilots, and the period in our
culture when science and discovery was held in such high
esteem.
I just finished
Mirror, Mirror. I love the idea
of Lucrezia Borgia being Snow White's wicked queen given the
nastiness that went on in her father's stay at the Vatican. I loved
the mention of Machiavelli in the context of a fairy tale. I think
it's probably a pretty girly book to enjoy as much as I did, but i
recommend it nonetheless.
As for food, i am an amateur chef and would love for you to check
out my food blog:
http://hooliganvegetarian.blogspot.com (it's been a bit dormant
while I've been dealing with the renovations on my home, but
there's content to come, swear.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What to cook for people when my cupboards seem bare, how to be a
better friend, how to be a better girlfriend, all the unfinished
projects on my plate, how to improve the
Coachella experience, how much it
goddamn costs to get the goddamn city to come pick up my goddamn
trash, why home ownership eventually turns everyone into a dad, how
long it will be before I'm in a bathrobe and black socks and
sandals watering the front lawn...
On a typical Friday night I am
partying at home with friends, where the liquor is cheap and we
don't have to yell over the noise of a bar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Sometimes, as i head off to work, i walk by the half-drunk glass of
red wine on the counter from the night before and think "hey...
who's gonna know?"
I have yet to drink it, though.
You should message me if
-You like what you've read
-You consider yourself a rock-and-roll good time
-You would jump at the chance to share a bottle of 12-year-old
whiskey with a woman who appreciates it
-You like good-natured disagreements full of passion and
wisecracks
-An evening spent swapping ipods in an effort to expose someone new
to the music you love sounds like a great time, and something you
could do until the sun comes up
