I know how to listen. Music plays me. I swim in playful and deep sharing connections. Creativity and passion are exciting. My imagination is better than Nilla Wafers.
What I’m doing with my life
Exploring for greatness, on the page, in my brain, at the field, during the friendly visit, out of the ether. Finding greatness often, during what at first may seem to be ordinary moments. They aren't ordinary, and I know this.
I’m really good at
I'm a natural at getting to know people, seeing the honest greatness in them. I am spectacular at forming insightful opinions based on very little observation, and also am always willing to admit when I'm full of it. I enhance stories. I can hear the unsaid things when you talk. I have a crappy phone, and I would rather be where I am anyway. I remember birthdays very well.
The first things people usually notice about me
that I am something. In actuality, I am something else entirely, way more interesting, way better, lots going on in my Universe that I will share if there's a spark between us
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Calvin and Hobbes
The Wedding Singer
My Dinner with Andre
The Power of Myth
Mudslide Slim and the Blue Horizon
The Barbarian Invasions
Goats Head Soup
This is the sampler. I have favorites aplenty...
this list is lacking a blue hue, so to fix that I will add:
Six Feet Under
Joe vs. the Volcano
Zachary's deep dish pizza
The six things I could never do without
words, like tart, zing, pungent, cheddary, and veehoose
memories, and my memory
nearly too-hot showers
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stories. A room filled with people I love and feel protected around, music playing, Saturday night, mountains of gourmet homemade food, laughter, games, and a muted light in the room that I cannot describe, but I know it when I see it. Home runs that are still soaring. That Moonlight Mile might be my favorite song, but there's also Ripple, Drifting, Pearl of the Quarter, and the guitar solo from Billy Breathes. And All Things Must Pass. A new love is Strangers by the Kinks.
On a typical Friday night I am
gonna have food. Fridays are great for relaxed let-hair-down conversations, with a spoonful of loony ambition. It's the perfect night to be a tad crazy, but definitely not as crazy as The Shining, which I will not watch with you.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Eagles. Bee Gees. Carpenters. Power ballads. None of this is private, mind you. i would never deny these.
You should message me if
if music can make tears pour down your cheeks. And message me if you are creative with words, ideas, connecting things, and you can no longer bear to live a life without play, curiosity, imagination, being present, feeling passionate about things, discovering yourself and another, and reaching for extraordinary. I don't run with the traffic. I think it's best if you don't either.
