My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm the kind of person who loves life. I don't mean that as some silly affectation, I mean I really do love it. I see every day as an adventure and every achievement worthy of celebration. So many of us tend to overemphasize the negative things that happen and gloss over the positive. I try to do the opposite.

I can get as much enjoyment out of a good conversation over coffee as I can with a rambunctious day at Disneyland. I love finding new and fun things to do and new places to explore. I like to look at everything, even the most mundane, as an adventure. Because, when everything is an adventure, nothing is boring.

I'm an unapologetic sci-fi/fantasy geek. I run in lots of geeky circles, and can quote 'Doctor Who' and 'Star Trek' while explaining all the character relations in 'Game of Thrones' and giving you my dissertation on why 'Firefly' is the greatest show ever.

I'm also a huge history geek. I love exploring the human narrative over the eons of the past, and seeing what light it sheds on where we are today and where we might be heading in the future.

I'm an extremely positive person who is always there for a pep talk if one needs it. I've been through the wringer of life, and come out the other end wiser and happier. I'm the kind of person who will always be there with a warm smile, a kind word, and a big hug.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
DVD production is a major part of my life. It's a fantastic day job, but it's not the sole focus of my life. I'm very involved in geeky fan communities organizing charity events. Yes, we geeks know how to give back to the world. And we also know how to party like nobody else!

I love to write. I've got one book under my belt, which is an accomplishment in and of itself, but I plan on writing a lot more. I occasionally do stand up comedy, but it's fallen by the wayside a little bit. I'm still hilarious, though. Just talk to me for five minutes.

I also am a volunteer tour guide at a Victorian museum. Like I said, I love history, and I've decided that it's time to make that a bigger part of my life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at making people laugh. I'm a goofball at heart, and I love making silly comments that induce spit takes. Even though I'm goofy and silly, I can still have serious and deep discussions with people. I love listening to people, and I'm always genuinely interested in what they have to say.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm usually the person who will start out being pretty silent in a social situation. It's not really because I'm shy, but more because I'm taking in the atmosphere.

If you see me at karaoke, you'll probably notice that I love to sing, and I'm pretty dang good at it. If you see my at a comedy show, I'm usually the one laughing the loudest. Many of my comedian friends have actually asked that I come to more of their shows just so that they can hear me laugh when they're on stage.

Books: The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Dresden Files, The Belgariad, The Mallorean, 1776 by David McCullough, American Gods, The Graveyard Book, Watchmen, World War Z, Founding Brothers. There are so many, it's hard to list them all.

Movies: The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars (original trilogy), most Star Trek movies, Harry Potter, Schindler's List, The Big Lebowski, The Godfather (I and II), Indiana Jones, Tron, anything by Hayao Miyazaki, anything by the Coen Brothers actually (with the exception of The Man Who Wasn't There), Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, The Matrix (but only the first one), The Hours. Again, there are so many, it's hard to list them all.

Music: Epic movie soundtracks (Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart, Gladiator, LOTR, etc.), most musicals (Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd, Wicked, Rent, etc.), Tori Amos, Enya, Nightwish, Billy Joel, Bryan Adams, Marc Cohn, Peter Gabriel, Loreena McKennitt, and so many others. I know, it's a weird mix.

TV Shows: Pushing Daisies, House, Eureka, Battlestar Galactica, The Middle Man, Heroes, Lost, Doctor Who, Mad Men, Mythbusters, Ghost Hunters, everything Joss Whedon has ever done. The list goes on.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
cell phone, a good book, my imagination, my family, my friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The zombie apocalypse. Seriously. I've become a bit of an expert on the subject.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually, I'm resting up from a busy work week. I'm by no means a shut-in, but I've learned the value in recharging. Of course, going out with friends can be just as valuable for recharging, so it's all pretty relative.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Can't really think of much here. I'm a pretty open book, really.
