My self-summary
I love to be around people that have a sense of humor. I'm hugely sarcastic. So much so that people that haven't known me for a long time have trouble picking it up and people that have sometimes can't discriminate between when I'm joking and when I'm being dead serious. As a result, those that can't take a good joke tend to get under my skin. Other than that, I'm pretty easygoing.

My interests tend to be all over the board and it tends to kind of throw people. I enjoy "guy stuff" like sports, camping, etc. but I also enjoy getting dolled up to go out with friends be it drinking, dancing, whatever. (FYI: A guy gets bonus points if he can dance, or at least has the guts to give it a try.) I've also been known to follow a chick TV drama or two (cough...Gray's Anatomy...cough, cough) although I have no expectation of others in my life following said programs. I've become a bit of a gym rat over the course of the last year. I want to get into running once the weather gets a little nicer, but we'll see how that goes.

I love reading and watching movies. I don't watch an insane amount of TV, but I love NCIS and Criminal Minds. Watching Jersey Shore is okay for a good laugh, too. I played collegiate level rugby for a top-five nationally ranked team for a couple of years, but don't any more. I also love a good game of racquetball and I'm extremely competitive with it.

I think it's important to be able carry on an intelligent conversation with the person you're dating and to be able to make them laugh. I typically tend toward more masculine features.

What I’m doing with my life
I recently finished my undergrad with a Biology major and minors in Chemistry and Philosophy. I'm working in patient care now and studying for the MCATs. I plan to start medical school within the next two years. I'll probably be a student until I'm a senior citizen, but it'll be worth it.

I’m really good at
Racquetball, but it's been ages since I've played.

Making people laugh. I have a pretty broad-ranging sense of humor, so I can have a good conversation with most anyone.

I used to write a highly sarcastic and generally left-leaning opinion column for the school paper. I've been told it made for a pretty damn good read.

Seeing both sides of an argument. That doesn't mean that I won't pick a side and stand by it (in fact, quite the contrary), it just means that I'm open-minded and want to understand what's going on before I make or defend a claim which I tend to do with fervor.

Standing up for what I think is right. I guess in a manner of speaking, this is a bit of an extension the former thing "I'm really good at."

The first things people usually notice about me
I didn't used to get this, but more recently my eyes. They've gotten more green over the last few years.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A. Invisible Monsters, Fight Club, Lullaby, Anything Else by Chuck Palahniuk, The Cheese Monkeys, The Red Queen, Genome, Candide, Angels and Demons, America the Book, To Kill A Mockingbird, Pride and Prejudice, Hamlet, The Birth of Venus, The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, a fair bit of nerdy science stuff...

B. The Dark Knight, Juno, Office Space, The Royal Tenenbaums, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Mel Brooks Movies in general, The "Ocean's" Series, Donnie Darko, The Gangs of New York, most anything with Johnny Depp.

C. Used to listen to a lot Indie but not so much lately, David Gray, Coldplay, The Fratellis, Thirsty Merc, Josh Ritter, Dave Matthews, 80's music, some oldies. I'm exceedingly picky about country music and I'm a generally not a big fan of rap or hiphop unless it's some of the good old school stuff.

D. Indian food (especially really good curry or mulligatawny), pretty much any other ethnic food, hot wings with the really spicy tangy sauce, beef jerky, sushi, prime rib. Favorite Beer: Woodchuck-Green Apple

The six things I could never do without
Aside from the obvious life-permitting necessities:

My Phone
A Good Book
Decent Movies
Humor/Sarcasm
A Good Friend to Talk To

Hmmm, that's only five. Well, I suppose I could live without good music and Johnny Depp, but who would want to?

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Wondering the following:
Why are the proteins I'm trying to do research with the most difficult proteins in the world to isolate (sorry for the nerd talk, but I really do wonder these things alot)?
Why do so many people reject rational ideas when they, by definition, make sense?
Are there really no decent guys out there or am I just a cynicist?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have one tattoo (an irish/celtic piece I got the day I turned 18) and eventually want one more really small one.

I am usully a stickler for my own grammar usage, but I tend to end sentences with prepositions anyway. Sometimes it is just a more natural-sounding way in which to end a sentence. See, doesn't the right way come off a little pretentious?

Not sure what other interesting private info to put here because I'm not a terribly secretive person. If you want to know something, I guess your best bet is to ask me.
