I'm 24 years old and I'm originally from West Virginia. I've lived most of my life there, or Virginia, or North Carolina. In the South I'm not all that Southern, but here I sort of am.

I went to college in Alaska and, after going back home for about a year, decided to move to Boston.

I forget to take out the garbage every other week, but that's not such a big deal I guess because we don't really get that much garbage.

I didn't learn how to ride a bike until I was in my 20's, and I learned drunk. I lost my favorite pair of jeans that way.

I have a tendency to not get cold, or to pretend that I'm not cold.

I bargain shop.

I am a dabbler. I prefer to be a jack of all trades than a master of anything. This has its advantages and its disadvantages.

I'm competitive. I have a brother who's two years older than me, and as a kid it was always me versus him. You do NOT cheat at Trouble (the board game), I don't care who you are.

Seeking adventure and fortune. Looking for a real job, in a shitty economy, with a liberal arts degree. Definitely not making fat stacks. Getting used to my new surroundings. Working nights and waking up way too early so that I can get in as much sunlight as possible.

Ping pong, ultimate frisbee, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, roughing it, listening, drumming, empathy, other things.

Okay so half of those are true, and the other half are half true.

I'm tall.

I look a lot younger than I am, unless I haven't shaved. I like to think that it's disarming to look like a high school kid.

I'm expressive. Maybe not at first though. At first I'm usually pretty impossibly shy.

A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, or anything else Dave Eggers touches.

Anything by the Coen Brothers. Wes Anderson. *Cough* Tim Burton *Cough*, but I'm damn sure not gonna get any tattoos about it. Christmas on Mars. Lots of other stuff too, seriously. Anything.

Six Feet Under changed my life. Lost hasn't, but it's still great. The Office. The one with Ricky Gervais, and the other one too I guess.

Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, Animal Collective, Jens Lekman, The Smiths, Fleet Foxes, The Decemberists, Belle & Sebastian, Weezer. Pysch rock, post rock, pirate rock, twee. Other stuff too, kind of along those broad lines.
