My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey I'm Ryan and a writer and no, it's not nearly as interesting as it sounds. Mostly. Ok it's awesome, who am I kidding. I love it. Despite being said writer, it's occurred to me that I am terrible at writing about myself. Imagine that. Self-proclaimed nerd and book lover, but you already probably guessed that with the writer thing huh?

I enjoy taking walks and hiking to places with great vistas when I have the time (top of Topanga Park anyone?). I enjoy a good conversation more than pretty much anything. If you can hold an engaging conversation with me, you've already probably won me over. I'd rather do something interesting when meeting someone for the first time rather than just your standard coffee schtick. Life's too short for boring banalities.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently the manager and a trainer at a Canine Training Facility in Sherman Oaks called Zoom Room. I love dogs so it's a great job while it lasts though I'm definitely trying to get my writing career off the ground in the mean time whether that mean freelance writing or full publication. I've been working on starting a publishing company and despite hitting a few bumps along the way, I'm getting closer to that goal. I graduated from CSUN with a degree in Communications (because it's a lot more useful than a one in creative writing. Am I right? ...anyone?). I'd love to have my own TED talk one day though I'm never too sure what I'd have it on.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Fixing computers, conversing with people, making terrible jokes at all the right times, and reading people. I'm actively working on my cooking skill so please don't think I'm trying to poison you if you eat anything I've made. It wasn't intentional.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My deep soulful eyes filled with the passion to create!

Really though? No clue. You'd probably have to ask the people that are doing the noticing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music:This list could go on forever so I'll just list a few of my favorites and some of the genres I listen to. I promised myself I would not put "I have an eclectic taste in music" because I don't want to sound basic but...well, you know.

Jazz & Blues, Post-Rock, Pop-Punk, some nostalgia Post-Hardcore, 90's Rap, and shitty Hip-Hop (courtesy of my friends). If you like Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Modern Baseball, Relient K, or The Wonder Years, I'm sure we'll get along just fine.

Authors: Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson, Elizabeth Hayden, R. A. Salvador, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, J.R.R. Tolkien, H. P. Lovecraft, Edger Allen Poe, George R. R. Martin to name a few. Yeah, I read a lot. Mostly fiction. I love the idea of crafting your own world and setting an entirely new precedent to build off of as you see fit. Definitely not a megalomaniac. Nope.

Movies: I love a good Horror movie and I've probably perused most of the ones on Netflix and beyond by now. Movies like V for Vendetta that are exciting and simultaneously evocative (to whatever extent) also make me happy. I like The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series, Jurassic Park, Enter Through the Giftshop, The Avengers, and What Dreams May Come.

Shows: Documentaries draw me in as do shows like Cosmos and others that I feel like I learn a lot from while enjoying excellent narration. I also like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and anything that can draw me in with good character development and strong storytelling.

Food: I love food. Sushi, Chinese, Thai, Indian. Spicy foods are my favorite, even if they don't always agree with me. I'm a sucker for a good burger now and then and do my best to stay as far away from fast food as humanly possible.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Laptop
Inner Circle of Friends
Imagination
Books
Sleeeeeeeep
My dogs
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The next project I want to start. The interior decoration in my room. My next day off. What music I should play while I write. Space.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm perfectly comfortable with a night indoors with my laptop, Microsoft Word, and Netflix or having some friends over for some good food and hanging out.

You're in the market for something stable with someone who's too much of an old soul to deal with the dating game everyone seems so engaged in, if you consider yourself nerdy to any degree, if you aren't one of those women that considers height the only redeemable quality in a man, or if you enjoy purposefully corny humor. Cause seriously, it doesn't stop.
