I am wayward, brassy, and aesthetic.

My Self-Summary

I am an easy going guy who doesn't take life too seriously. I tend to be turned off by things with mass appeal, and believe that TV melts your brain. I like things of high quality and artistic ingenuity, but am not materialistic. I lived in Costa Rica for about 6 months, and have traveled through Central America and most of Europe. I enjoy travel of the spontaneous variety. Experiencing the wonders of the world through a Hilton is not my cup of tea. I like taking things slow, while getting to know new people and places intimately. Not much for itineraries. I have had more fun hitching a ride in the back of a puckup truck filled with chickens and goats in Panama, as I have at the louvre. I'm into stuff that most people aren't into. I collect vintage reggae on vinyl, I dig old school delta blues, and almost any movie with Bogart. I spend hours on ffffound. Somedays I am afraid I will turn into Bukowski. Other days, I am afraid I wont. I like checking out new hiking and Mountain Biking Trails. I am a sucker for a banjo or mandolin. I dig road trips and anything Noir. Frank Miller and Neil Gaiman do it right. I like to treat every day as an adventure.

What I’m doing with my life

Left my job as an Auditor for a large company in Asheville. I would rather jam blunt objects into my eyes than spend another day working as an accountant. I am looking for something a bit more meaningful or creative. Doing Freelance writing and bartending to pay the bills at the moment.

I’m really good at

Knowing how to make people laugh, fixing things, talking people into doing things regardless of impact on physical or emotional well being. Making coconut chicken curry. Getting Lost.

The first things people usually notice about me

That I am, in all seriousness, the Cats Pajamas.

The six things I could never do without

Music, Dogs, Good Beer, Good Friends, Creme Brulee, Lazy Summer Afternoons.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Moving to back to Central or South America, or maybe even Eastern Europe.

On a typical Friday night I am

Going to see some good live music, or packing up the truck for a weekend camp, or having some friends over for some dinner and a movie. (Last time it was Repo Man, the time before that, the Big Lebowski). I especially like seeing music at the Town Pump, Gray Eagle, and having a respectable beer at the Thirsty Monk, if you are from around here.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I can't be trusted as banker when playing Monopoly. I'm not willing to go into specifics, but the glory of committing the perfect crime takes over my better judgment. I for one blame the Movie Bottle Rocket.

You should message me if

Your not into taking life seriously, and think people are almost as ridiculous as the platypus.
