My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Don't let appearances deceive you, though I may look like a young upper-crust professional, I am something quite different on the inside. Beneath the soft exterior there is a radical political mind wrapped around the soul of an artist.

I live and breathe for theatre, music, and the magical natural world around us.

I'm chill, cool, calculated, strong will, deep heart, smart enough not to do something stupid (unless I want to), articulate, organized but messy, long fused, malnourished, humble, modest, critical eye, observant, patient (except with myself, though sometimes...). I'm passive without aggression, goal-oriented, swear like a sailor, wise beyond my years, confident, sometimes lazy, generally proactive, TV junkie, nicotine and caffeine addict. I enjoy a good, stiff drink, but rarely get out of hand drunk (but I have and had good times). Bit of a starchild, dream wanderer who does battle with the alarm clock, head in the clouds plotting a utopia that could never be. Totally godless.

That's some of me, I probably missed some things. Oh well, you'll just have to find out first hand.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For the past 2 years I have been working full time at a theatre in North County. I work long, crazy hours, but I'm doing what I love every single day and its fantastic.

Theatre is what truly makes me happy. So I try my damnedest never to get too far away from it. Naturally, I tend to associate with whom some consider the scum of the earth: lecherous, promiscuous, and dangerous people of the night; actors and other fellow theatre artists. Previously, I was freelance Stage Manager for the San Diego theatre community. The SM is responsible for the entire production, from first rehearsal to final performance. He take notes on everything, he runs lights and sounds, organizes schedules, helps construct sets when needed, sometimes he even takes care of the plumbing... presently I've got a couple months of a break from it this fall, so I'm ready to enjoy my weekends doing whatever.

In the off hours I can be found playing my guitar, casually playing video games, or chilling with friends, roommates, my cat, or all three.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Tetris Master. Foosball King. I'm really good at getting the most out of a hand that's dealt to me. I'm all about making lemonade from lemons, (not literally... I don't own a juicer.) I'm a great listener and I'll always have a friendly, helpful word for you. I'm quite good at making tables in Word documents, my paperwork is always clean, efficient and easy to read. Smoke rings are a specialty; a cool party trick.
The first things people usually notice about me

I like hats, other people like my hats. I probably wear some kind of headgear 90% of the time in public. Also my tattoos are prominently displayed on my forearms, so people notice that a lot.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music: A lot of punk lately: Black Flag, Rancid, Bad Religion, NOFX, Pennywise, Minor Threat, Fugazi, Dead Kennedys, The Clash, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Blink-182, and of course the band that started it all for me, Green Day. Also love me some folk/folk rock Glen Hansard, Jack Johnson, Ryan Adams, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Matt Costa, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Andrew Jackson Jihad, The Mountain Goats. And just good ol' alternative/classic rock: Our Lady Peace, 30 Seconds to Mars, Beatles, Pink Floyd. Also some more obscure post-rock: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, A Silver Mt. Zion, Sigur Ros, and Ventura Indie bands: Franklin for Short, The Return, and Le Meu Le Pur.

Books: 2312, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Galileo's Dream, The Mars Trilogy, The Hyperion Cantos, Catcher in the Rye, The Stranger, On the Road, anything by Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho, Rules of Attraction), or Kim Stanley Robinson (Red Mars) (I know, two completely different genres... but they're both excellent authors.)

TV: How I Met Your Mother, Revolution, Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time, Star Trek: TNG, South Park.

Plays: Angels in America, Closer, Three Days of Rain, Madagascar.

Films: I like a lot of movies... But I really don't get out to the movie theater much anymore; this is strange, since it used to be a hobby of mine, in 2002 I saw 100 movies in the theater and reviewed them on my livejournal (remember that thing?)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I can make it on very little, just the essentials is all I need. Let me work in my dream career field. Let me listen to and make music. Let me live my life as a poor starving artist. Let me be able to hang out with my cat. I have no plans to live in a mansion, ever. It's more fun this way. Though it would be nice to have someone to share time with in the off hours.

But if I must choose six material possessions...

*my Droid
*my iPod
*my car
*my guitar
*my macbook
*a hat
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The ebb and flow of freeway traffic. Constructing a punk rock musical. Living in a Martian dystopia. Surviving in a post-apocalyptic Earth. Why man created god and how the concept has evolved over thousands of years.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday night? I'm probably Stage Managing a show, either in rehearsal or performance. When I'm not, I'm hanging out with friends or practicing guitar and singing to my cat.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'll answer ANY question you ask me straight up.
I have a highly addictive personality, I collect things I like (like music, authors) and I get very attached to things quickly.
I love answering OKCupid questions, I've answered a lot of them (at time of edit, over 1000); its fun.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you're done with the douchebags and you want hang out with someone who will be kind to you and treat you with the respect that you deserve.

Also if you can deal with these facts:
I work in a low income career that I love.
I don't believe in a god and I never will again.
I smoke; I want to quit eventually, and I'd be happy to have someone try to help, but it is not an easy task at hand.

If you can handle that, then message me or chat with me. Maybe we'll go see a play, or check out the beach at dusk. We can get a drink, or two, or three, or more. Let's check out the dark parts of the city. Let's do something crazy. Or something serene.

The point is this: we're alive, so let's do something about it together.

10/11/13 update: Working hard on a daily basis. Not getting out enough. Would like to meet someone who wants to go out a couple times a week. Let's see where it goes from there.
