My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a crazy from the northwoods who enjoys (and appreciates) life and culture. I love to read and play games of strategy (backgammon, cards, board games, etc.). Traveling is something I also love. Without travel I don't know what I would do. While experiencing other people and cultures you learn more about yourself than anything, and you learn how this crazy world is all one. It doesn't matter if you travel to the ends of the Earth or across the street, there is always something to be learned. Knowledge is the key to everything. Also it is just good to be out there doing something. Also in my free time I like to research viking-age Scandinavian history, play in Kubb tournaments, and take in various sporting events (I like soccer and baseball).

But, in reality, I really don't know what to say about myself in a paragraph or two on here. I rather be asked! Sometimes it is hard to psychoanalyze yourself :) Where does a person begin? And it seems that every time I try to rewrite this, I sound like more of a nerd.

Also I have to apologize for my pictures, they are a tad bit dated. I take lots of pictures but none of myself.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am studying Social Studies with specialization in Sociology and Anthropology at Bemidji State University. After that I would like to pursue a Ph.D on the east coast or the Pacific northwest, or move there to work. I will just have to see I guess.

As of late, working on a research project dealing in commodity fetishism within economic class, ethnicity, and age.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I tend not to brag, but maybe rummy and backgammon? I do have an uncanny ability to "read" other people though. I can tell their motives, backgrounds, and likes and dislikes very well. It is kind of scary sometimes. But I try not to think in that way when I meet people. But when I do I am exactly right 95% of the time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You would have to ask them i guess ;)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Anything by Hunter S. Thompson, Earnest Hemingway, but especially Jack Kerouac. I actually like all the beat writers. Catcher in the Rye King Harold's Saga The Vineland Saga Contact The Great Gatsby Running the Table And Many More to come. .and too many to name actually!

Movies: Braveheart Star Trek The Patriot Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Where the Buffalo Roam Harold and Kumar go to White Castle The Godfather Days of Thunder The Man Without a Face The Hustler Pool Hall Junkies Robin Hood I really don't watch too many movies and these are all I can think of now.

TV Shows: Mad Men is my all-time favorite show. But I also like, SNL South Park Law and Order SVU The Sopranos Star Trek X-Files Portlandia Big Bang Theory The Sarah Silverman Program Taxi The Simpsons. But I am more of a reader I guess.

Music: I like cool Jazz and true grunge music, but these are the more "popular" bands I listen to..... Pink Floyd Bob Dylan Miles Davis Nirvana Pearl Jam Sonic Youth Alice in Chains Marcy Playground The Beatles The Doors Led Zeppelin Journey MGMT Sleater-Kinney. These are the main ones anyways
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Problems to exercise my brain, good food, good literature, travel, nature, coffee.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life in general, the future, and the past.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing at home reading, writing, or out having a few drinks in a quiet, dimly-lit pub.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
