I hate the Midwest. I grew up there and only go back to see my mom, my friends, and their kids.

I can't stand pretension, ignorance, or pettiness. Bigots of any kind should just go kick themselves and save me the time and energy.

An inability to laugh at oneself is a huge character flaw.

Went to the infamous Antioch College, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Dayton, studying law at George Washington University with the hopes of practicing some kind of public interest.

I have more books than you do IQ points. (I keeed.) Packing them every time I move sucks so hard. I also have 30 years of National Geographics.

Spelling, grammar, and mechanics are important to me. I will not answer your message if you're incapable of using the language correctly.

I over-intellectualize everything, in a semi-anti-social way.

According to OK Cupid, I'm more independent and less desiring of love than anyone else on this site. I'm really not that bad, though.

BOOKS- Post-modern and post-colonial literature; Social theory, especially gender/queer theory, post-colonial, post-modern, and Marxist theory. I do occasionally read sci fi, but I'm very picky!

MOVIES- literate, character-driven films , the occasional stoner movie might make me giggle. Zombies, monsters, and aliens are always good, even better if they know kung fu.

FOOD- I've been vegan since 1997, so I love almost all varieties of Asian cuisine. Middle Eastern food is my preferred "junk food". Mmmm.. hummus. I could eat Ethiopian food every day.

I used to model. That's why I tend to dress very comfortably and not wear makeup. I'm very self-conscious about my appearance and reallyreallyreally hate it when people stare or make comments. There are certain dresses that I will not wear in public now.

I'm also socially-awkward to the point where I come off as snobby or bitchy. I'm honestly just not comfortable in groups unless the situation is an academic one. My tendency to over-intellectualize things makes it even harder to make friends. Insecure or overly-sensitive people HATE me.

You wanna make some food for me! Or just bring up some cookies or a sammich from Sticky Fingers and ride bikes around the mall.
