My self-summary
I have a basic membership so it seems if you "like" me I'll never know...

I'm a well-educated, creative, loyal, and playful woman hoping to find one special man I can admire who believes that kindness, communication, and support of each other’s dreams are key to any good relationship. I love the surprise of each new day, learning new things, and enjoying the simple pleasures. Can you imagine a Sunday morning where we shop together at the farmer’s market, sipping rich coffee, smelling the herbs, giving each other small bites of cheese to taste, and then coming home to whip up a meal for our friends?

If you’re a smart, intellectually curious man, successful in your chosen field, who’s also looking for a deeper connection in a great relationship, you’ll catch my attention. I’m a really good listener, who will appreciate you and will have your back, as I hope you’ll have mine. Together we'll create a life filled with passion, intimacy on all levels, and we'll truly "get" and accept each other.

I’d love to find a partner who enjoys wandering through museums or galleries, sitting close to each other while watching a thought-provoking film or play, pitching in for a worthy cause, or lazily reading together on a rainy or snowy day. I'd also love to to be intrigued by something new that really interests you. And if you've got the time and inclination to travel, you'll find I'm an easygoing partner. We're only one email away from finding each other...I hope to hear from you.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to have as many new experiences as possible.
Growing my HR consulting business.
Writing plays.
I’m really good at
Making people feel at ease.
Saying I'm sorry if I'm wrong.
Listening.
Showing up when someone needs me.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes and my sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Reading All the Light You Cannot See now. Roth, Irving (what's better than the last 50 pages of A Prayer for Owen Meany?). I like to reread Hemingway and Fitzgerald from time to time. The NYT, WSJ, The New Yorker.
Jazz, blues, rock, classical--really anything but rap (although my daughter swears she will make me change my mind about this).
Ida, The Big Short, My Left Foot, Pulp Fiction, As Good as it Gets, Good Will Hunting, The King's Speech, Brokeback Mountain, The Piano, A Room with a View (and most other Merchant Ivory films).
Homeland, Bill Maher, NPR.
Favorite playwrights (aside from Shakespeare), Chekhov, Tennessee Williams, and recently Patrick Shanley and Simon Stephens
Love to cook, especially Northern Italian (doing the dishes, not so much). I tend to like small, cozy restaurants that are conducive to conversation.
The six things I could never do without
My grown-up daughter who has taught me far more than I've taught her, my guitar and piano, my eclectic group of friends, art, theater, books, passport. Yes, yes, I know, that's eight.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having dinner with friends, cooking dinner for friends, seeing a movie...but really there is no typical Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was kicked out of the Girl Scouts (Brownies, actually) for subversive activities.
You should message me if
You live in NYC or near enough that a trip to Manhattan doesn't send you into spasms. You are over 50 years old. You are kind but maybe you have a bit of an edge, you're wicked smart, funny, and think we might hit it off.
