My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." -Dr Seuss

I moved here 14 years ago from Ohio and it feels like home here. I have thoughts about moving, but nothing has gotten me to leave yet.

I used to have a bunch of paragraphs trying to explain who I am, but I changed it to a list of random facts about me. Hopefully something resonates with you.

- I love anything in the culinary world. Craft beer, wine (mostly reds), and good food. I also like to cook and don't even mind cleaning. When I eat something amazing, I challenge myself to make it myself, adding a twist that makes it even better. Things I do for fun usually involve food, whether it's walking through the farmers market sampling produce, dinner with friends, or going to a wine festival.

And I eat salad with my steaks, so I'm almost a vegetarian....right?

- Speaking of cleaning, a lot of people tell me I'm the cleanest guy they know. I'm not OCD, but my small apartment feels bigger when it's clean.

- I've been running / hiking more lately and it's a love/hate relationship. I love that feeling afterwards. I sign up for 5K's just to keep me active in between the runs and I don't care what my finishing time is.

- Whether it's laying on a blanket at Balboa Park, riding bikes around Mission Bay, or driving to LA because I want a Pink's hot dog, I know that it's really about the company you're with more than the environment that matters. If we have chemistry, I can have fun doing pretty much anything.

Lately I have been taking evening strolls through my neighborhood and it helps to calm me and give me a sense of peace. Having someone to converse with would be nice sometimes.

- I prefer a smaller group of close friends rather than a lot of friends that I only see once in a while.

- I love music and have to listen to it every day. I love going to live shows, although I haven't been going as often as I would like. We don't have to like the same music, but if you ONLY listen one type of music 100% of the time, we may not get along.

- I'm nowhere close to being vegan or vegetarian, but the whole culture interests me enough to where I want to start making better choices with what I eat.

- I'd rather spend time having a BBQ in someones back yard or enjoying a drink at the a dive bar chatting with random people than going clubbing downtown or sun tanning at the beach.

- I like thoughtful gestures to show that I care. I'm the type that will remember something you said a week ago and surprise you with something just to make you smile. I enjoy people who do the same.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work a full-time job in IT and going to school to finish my degree. Class of 2014, so it's getting close!

Staying in IT right now because it's stable, but I can't stop thinking about changing careers.

that I smile a lot.

Most people will also think i'm shy at first. This is often misunderstood about me as I am usually observing others around me.

Books: Coloring with numbers, one fish two fish red fish blue fish, Where The Wild Things Are, Goodnight Moon, and The Giving Tree. I kid, I kid. I read enough 180 page PDF's at work and textbooks for school, so I'm not really reading any books for pleasure right now. Of Mice and Men will always be my all time favorite. Johnny Got His Gun is up there too.

Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Super Troopers, Bottle Rocket, Office Space, Rushmore, Sideways, Bottle Shock, The Royal Tenenbaums, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Fight Club....the list goes on.

Music: Good Old War, Mumford & Sons, Acceptance, Muse, Brand New, Angels and Airwaves, Jason Mraz, Bloc Party, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Manchester Orchestra, Something Corporate, Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, The Postal Service, Local Natives, Foster the People, Broken Bells, Phoenix, Silversun Pickups, Arcade Fire

Food: Anything good! I'm always expanding my horizons in the culinary world, so I can't rule anything out. I love chinese, mexican, and sushi. My favorite meal is a prime ribeye and a nice glass of red wine.

There is no typical Friday because I usually wait until then to see how I feel.

I usually like to take it easy so that I can have fun on Saturday.

That I'm on this site and I don't like my screen name. I was in a hurry when I first created the profile and wasn't feeling creative. Little would I know that they'd want $$$ to allow me to change it. C'est la vie! Guess I'm stuck with it.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over. feel so desired.

You're passionate about something, anything.

Also if you believe that conversation is a two way street. It's not fun if you're only answering questions and not asking any of your own.

I'm not going to list restrictions or reasons. If you feel we have something in common and like to share laughs even if it's at our own expense, then we'll be fine.

Don't message me if you talk crap on your profile about what other people put on theirs. We're all here for the same reason and putting ourselves out there. That just makes you sound mean because people are who they are and they like what they like.

I think everyone should be open to try anything because you never know when you find something new you like that you never thought you would!
