My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
summary? oh man. i grew up around here, i work around here. i'm quiet and observant. i like to do my own thing, and am often doing it by myself. i like traveling, experiencing new things, learning, and making memories. i'm nerdy. i work in the video games industry. photography is a hobby of mine. i once drove around the country, over 10,000 miles in 30 days, by myself (when gas was way cheaper, duh). i put my life in storage for 6 months in 2005 and backpacked alone through Europe, and would do it again in a heartbeat (this time the iphone will have been invented!). I love roadtrips/driving - hwy 1 is near and dear to my heart - but my car is dead. now i walk everywhere. I'm not interested in making tons of money, and i try to limit my material possessions to just the necessities. i'm here to hopefully meet some people for possible friendship! does that sum it up? hell no
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
livin it. on my terms, mostly. probably making it more interesting than it needs to be, but i like it that way.

spending way too much time: riding caltrain, staring at computer screens, building databases, analyzing data, being around video game people.

usually: beer, walking around, pondering, staring at the sky/clouds/moon/stars.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
looking like i know what i'm doing. surreptitious observation. getting lost/finding my way back. setting the clock on your vcr. being sarcastic and snarky. figuring out how things work. tetris. fixing things. surviving. pattern recognition. knowing when it's time for a beer.

really not good at: talking about myself, remembering your name, looking like i'm paying attention, current events, caring about bullshit.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
my hair is crazy long right now, so i probably look like a bum/need a haircut. i walk fast. i'm skinny.

i know this because i'm a mind-reader.

i have no fucking clue what people notice about me: put out that cigarette and/or stop looking in this direction?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
books: william gibson. i wish i read more, but i don't. i even have an ereader and i don't read as much as i should. i tend to read the same books over and over anyway. i can speak intelligently about most of gibson's stuff, and arthur c. clarke. the books that i currently have on my desk: neuromancer, the road, american psycho, childhood's end, the god's themselves.

movies: i like a lot of movies. i dunno. cerebral stuff? scifi and dramas. blade runner, gattaca, and dark city are some of my favorites. this is more of a conversation.

shows: i don't watch tv anymore, but some favorites are: x-files, the wire, twin peaks, arrested development, breaking bad, seinfeld, top gear, the walking dead, and game of thrones.

music: i love music, can't live without it. i don't know how to describe my taste. the geekiest thing about me is that i track my listening stats on shit goes back to 2006. i have no idea why i do this. it's cool too look at though, the history and shit. do you want to see it? i'd rather listen to an entire album, and i RARELY have my shit on shuffle. right now i am listening to a lot of mogwai, the gathering, portishead, tears run rings, the mars volta, laika, toro y moi, and massive attack. i like film scores and instrumental shit too. often that is the best stuff to walk around the city listening to. i'm a sucker for extended acid rock guitar solos, lustrous female crooning, crazy electronic shit, and general loudness.

food: food is cool, i guess. i'm not a big eater. i'm not picky though, just generally don't eat much. i don't cook for myself when i'm on my own, but i can find my way around a kitchen if necessary. i like going to diners, take me to one.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
It depends man! Beer, whiskey, and weed? I dunno let me get all deep and shit:

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Consciousness and the mind. Lucid dreaming. Beer. Getting the fuck out of here. What's out there beyond the furthest reaches of our telescopes. Sex. What I'm going to do on the weekend. Tattoos. The quickest way out of the building. Life and humanity, what we're doing, what it all means. Living in Berlin. Drugs. Cute girls on the bus. Living on the fringes of society.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I still wear this 12 year old jacket even though it has a broken zipper. I don't have a lot of pictures of myself - I'd rather be behind the camera. I like pain. I have several brands and a few tattoos. I am generally convinced I am a synesthete, though I have no way of confirming it.
