In the story of my life that I'm writing, the third part just ended, and I'm in the opening chapters of my Part IV. Sometimes it seems like great literature, sometimes a comedy, rarely a tragedy, and when it's a romance, it ranges from big and beautiful to just plain silly. But lemme tell ya, it's an epic tale so far.
Part III ended when my daughters graduated and began their adult lives, set against the backdrop of my long career in newspapers moving toward a major turning point and an epic love affair with a strong but wrong woman ending, although the world itself survived the Mayan apocalypse. Turn the page.
It'll be interesting to see what I'll write into my life next. I've got some good ideas percolating and I'm excited to see how they play out.

Riding my bicycle, working in the Financial District of all places (yet still for the good ole Guardian), contemplating the next book I'll write (literally, not like my figurative story above), doing yoga, partying on the weekends (not every weekend, and not always just on weekends), enjoying my large and sometimes intersecting local social circles, following my daughters' lives with great interest and affection, appreciating all I have, pursuing what's next, and living in the moment along the way.

Excited the weekend is finally here, but usually more tired from the workweek that I want to admit to myself. I have a strong constitution and can always rally around a fun plan, but sometimes it's nice to just let go of my FOMO and do nothing. Well ... maybe just a little something, which always seems to lead to more.
