My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have been described as being a real man, spontaneous, yet down-to-earth, who has taken the career path less traveled and believes "to have a friend, be a friend."
A very fortunate man am I, with a great job and a 22 yo son who is a deejay and once learned basic Japanese, "because it is difficult".
Don't need much sleep beyond 6 hours and am a morning person (but you don't have to be)
Appreciate the ability to treat each day as a treasure, a chance to laugh 50 times a day and regard a relationship as a real opportunity to achieve intimacy through co-commitment.
Years ago I moved to Switzerland for Grad School, although I had never been to Europe. I took a chance and it has made a big difference in my life.
Oh, and I make a MEAN seafood chowder.

I am inquisitive, imaginative, and energetic. You should be adventurous and energetic, as well.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
By day, I am a marketing guy. I often deal with incredibly smart nerds worldwide who like my products, but don't like to ask for money from their managers. Oh did I mention that it is also great fun?
I am also a Tutor/mentor to at risk teens in algebra and creative writing through the school district.
At night I could be whipping up a nourishing fab meal from scratch or a delicious salad or nosh plate. May see me at a local live music venue or at the Alamo Drafthouse or Arbor. Like to hike the Barton Creek greenbelt headlands (esp. with dogs), or quiet conversation and picnicking during the transition of day into evening from a lair on Mt. Bonnell.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Staying on the right task until it gets done.
Being there for my friends, whether short or long term
Accepting consructive feedback
Spontaneous travel without a firm agenda
Being comfortable in a foreign environment
Finding scrunge bars in foreign countries
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Tall with blue eyes and a nice smile
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Anything by Charles Bukowski, Po Bronson, Annie Proulx, Grisham,
Dennis Lehane, Bill Kinsella. C. McCarthy, R. Crumb or Tom Wolfe. I read non-fiction, too. Please READ occasionally. The Onion, Classics Illustrated Comic books and Cliff notes count as reading, too.
For self-help I like Terence Real, Byron Katie, Tom Murasso and Gay Hendricks, and some Dyer. He's just Not that Into You works both ways.

Sideways, Donnie Darko, Pulp Fiction (most of Quentin's stuff), The Big Lebowski (I am an Achiever), Fargo (any Coen Bro's), Trainspotting, (any Danny Boyle), Thank You for Smoking, Little Miss Sunshine, Royal Tannenbaum's (some of Wes Anderson), Saving Private Ryan. 4 weddings and a funeral and Brit Chik Flix are a guilty pleasure.
Lawrence of Arabia, North by Northwest (Hitchcock...the master)
For a dose of Fellini, I just visit my step-in-laws for a weekend.
Also check out Shakespeare in the Park or Sunday nite symphonies for a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Sublime, Incubus, Beastie Boys, Weezer, Beck, Foo Fighters, Daft Punk, Greenday, The Darkness, Neil Young, Todd Rundgren, Jimi Hendrix, Morrison, Tower Of Power and some of the senior rock circuit. The Clash, and Punk Classics, etc.
Good pop music is a guilty treasure, currently Oasis. Sometimes HEB in-store strings a few classics together. Rap or C/W- not so much for me.

I like virtually all food types and cultures.
Lobster, fresh seafood, (from New England) cherries and organic walnuts, Green Defense, well-priced fine wine. Trader Joes in the Arboretum! Also Sprouts and Costco.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
friends, including my 93yo dad, my best friend
experiencing the Next Big Thing,
making a difference for those less fortunate,
picking bing cherries in season, I am a total cherry slut.
Buying Fireworks in Texas,
an airtight alibi. (Dad was a lawyer)
Update-dad passed away recently. I eulogized him. Father's Day was tough this year.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the art of persuasion,
how we're all related to common ancestors 150,000 years ago,
allocating scarce resources better,
why people crave 15 minutes of fame,
creating food that pairs nicely with whatever Wine I have.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
working til 6:30, then up for about any sort of adventure.
Always liked Friday nights better than Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As a teen I learned to play Bass Guitar, only to pick up chicks.
It didn't work.
