I am Geeky, Quiet, and Fun.

My Self-Summary

Hi. I'm no good at these things, therefore an attempt at my self summary through qualities and interests:

I'm semi-indie, vaguelly hip, tragically geeky and socially awkward. I'm also caring, compassionate, fun, loving, and committed. Unless I'm not and just making myself sound good for a dating site, which is completely possible but unintentional.

I'm into the entertainment things listed below (the comics, movies, music and food) but also enjoy some video games, even if I'm usually five to ten years behind (old-school NES is great and this GameCube thing is blowing my mind). I love zombies and robots (and sometimes monsters). I like watching cheesy horror films and crap 70s and 80s cinema. Halloween is my favorite holiday.

I also like going on spontaneous adventures, but those don't happen nearly enough. I thoroughly enjoy (but suck at) bowling, miniature golf, go-karts, skeeball and air-hockey. Spring and autumn are my favorite times of year. I really dig walking in parks (or sitting in parks or laying in parks or playing in parks...). Abandoned buildings thrill me. Breakfast is not only the most important meal of the day, but the most delicious.

I dunno. Does that work? Read more and message me. That'll probably help.

However, just so you know, I'm with someone amazing right now so not looking for anything.

Carry on, then.

What I’m doing with my life

Living.

More to the point: working an office job to make money which I use to live with. The job is nothing fancy, but it gives me some time and money with which to enjoy life outside of it.

I’m really good at

Getting really excited and talking all about really geeky things, making out, eating, making friends with cats, exploring, forgetting things, making a nice sandwich, giving massages (or so I've been told), coughing

The first things people usually notice about me

Glasses? No, probably the hair. That and the tshirt I'm wearing usually.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I loves me some comics. I read far more comics than actual books. Such awesome comics (graphic novels, if you will) include things like New X-Men, Scott Pilgrim, Optic Nerve, Hellboy, Sandman, Runaways, The Maxx, Criminal, Batman: Year One, From Hell, Alias, 100%, Cerebus, The Filth, Kabuki, All-Star Superman, Nextwave and Uzumaki. I do read some real books, though. I enjoy some Lovecraft, Palahniuk, Gaiman, Sedaris, Dragonlance and that Harry Potter kid.

Movies: I like lots of movies. Some examples are Rushmore, The Goddamn Dark Knight, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, the (original) Star Wars trilogy, The Wrath of Khan, Night of the Living Dead, Primer, The Fountain, Buckaroo Banzai, Night Watch, The Goonies, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Evil Dead, Happiness of the Katakuris, Ghostbusters, Alien 3, Punch-Drunk Love, Fight Club, Big Fish, Mulholland Drive, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, The Big Lebowski and 28 Days Later.

I'll even add television programs since there's some fantastic shows out there too (even though I hate 'watching TV'). Lost (I'm far too in love with this show), Doctor Who, Twin Peaks, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Aeon Flux, Dead Like Me, Firefly, Neon Genesis Evangelion, The Young Ones, Dexter, Spaced, Torchwood, Pushing Daisies, Battlestar Galactica, The Venture Brothers, Millennium, Flight of the Conchords, Farscape and Arrested Development.

Music: I like things post-punk, indie-rock, alternative, new wave, rockabilly and classic punk, as well as other things. Artists like They Might Be Giants, Rilo Kiley, Tom Waits, Radiohead, Gnarls Barkley, Arcade Fire, Joy Division, The Beatles, Beck, Talking Heads, David Bowie, The Pixies, The Cramps, Interpol, Gorillaz, The Smiths, R.E.M., El Perro del Mar, The Smashing Pumpkins, Deadbolt, Sigur Ros, The White Stripes, Polaris, The Clash, Johnny Cash, Bjork, Nick Cave, Devo, Siouxsie and the Banshees, etc.

I also very much enjoy eating. Food. Almost all kinds of foods. Sweet delicious food.

The six things I could never do without

My Kitty, Storytelling Media, Friends, Food, NPR and Love.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Comics, what's going on in the world, snuggling, a post-apocalyptic planet, what's for lunch, that really weirdly awesome dream I had last night, the video game, TV series or book I'm in the middle of, the Soviet Union, making out, playing with the toy dinosaurs on my desk, love, bacon, the (potentially grim) future, bills, a fascinating story I just heard on the radio, cute furry things, flying (not in an airplane), sex, the Tunguska Event, who would win in a street fight between Wes Anderson, Michel Gondry and Spike Jonze, overpopulation, time travel, etc.

On a typical Friday night I am

Sleeping? What's so wrong with resting on Friday and getting ready to do things the rest of the weekend? I mean Saturday's a nice enough day, isn't it?

Also, I'm more than likely going running about 10 miles first thing in the morning on Saturday. This happens just about every Saturday. I'm getting used to it and even beginning to like it. I never thought I'd say that, but there it is.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

The issue is not admitting the private thing, but coming up with the private thing to admit. That's where I have the problem.

You should message me if

You are awesome. Also if you have free time and similar tastes or interests. Saying 'hi' is also an acceptable reason.

Bear in mind, again, that I'm seeing someone awesome, so I'm not looking for anything at the moment.
