My self-summary
I was wondering who would go on this site to meet people. I was on the fence until I learned about the extensive quiz that you can take to match personalities. Then it seemed like a great idea to meet similar people. Maybe I just like personality quizzes :) I thought to myself that if the personalities are similar and the physical interest is there, there should be no problems getting better dates; no, not just better dates but relatively perfect dates that would lead to a near perfect relationship (or at least as perfect as it can be in this relative world). And if not dates, then at least some great friendships linked together by similar interests and morals.

Alas, hopeful self found mediocre responses. Still, it is fun to hope and try. There seems to be a stigma against meeting people for the first time online but perhaps that will change. What do you think about tinder? Is it better?

I read online about how best to present yourself. It said to stay away from cliches like walks on the beach, long embraces, co-reading with your partner, etc... but that is what I want... lol. Oh, and supposedly selfies are bad because they are too easily doctored and vain. Time to annoy my friends to take a million photos of me because that won't be vain at all.

I like activities: swimming, running, skating, theater, art, live music, hiking, etc. Spend around an hour a day at the gym. I am addicted to my fitbit.

I don't like: drugs, bars, jerks, complainers and smokers.

Never been married.

I really want a happy person whom life still excites and wants to go to new places and have new experiences.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been reissuing vinyl records for about ten years. I have a degree in business. I have found a career I am passionate about, biotechnology and molecular biology, and I am going to school for the degree. Afterwards, I want to work in gene therapy. I just find this stuff so fascinating!

Occasionally, when I have to time I play drums, board games , and the ancient form of defense: Kung Fu.

I love the people that encompass nerd culture, so I have cosplayed at Otakon and such.
I’m really good at
anything to which I set my mind.
The first things people usually notice about me
Ohhh... I don't know... Someone said that I look intimidating :( But I am really a friendly guy!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I wasn't a big Beatles fan and when I first listened to Pepper's Lonely Hearts I wasn't amazed, but everyday I started listening and I fell in love and then bought the dub star's version of the album.

Weezer's Blue album is still something that gets a revolution even after 12 years. I still love it. I live in that warm fuzzy glow of reverb and distortion.

When I saw the Flaming Lips on the fourth of July it was because I was invited and got a free ticket, that is to say that I was really really lucky that a friend turned me on to really really good band and a great stage show. She has a black belt in Karate CHOP CHOP! These songs bring comfort when your scared (and going to lose a kidney). Thanks, Carl!

I listen to everything. I drum to everything (especially reggae right now). Afro-Cuban, rap, rock, Daft Punk and all that electronica, southern funk, James Brown, shoe gazer, Portishead and all that trip hop, Latin, glam rock... etc.

Good music is everywhere and not contained in a label.

PS So recently I have been ADDICTED to Electric Light Orchestra. And I love the Kinks.

Catcher in the Rye, Flowers for Algernon, David Copperfield, The Tao of Pooh, Oscar Wilde, Ender's Game, Anxious to Please, The Princess Bride (amazing), Black Boy (Richard Wright is one of my favorites), Childhood's End (I hated this book so long that I realized it had a profound effect), Ethan Frome, A tale of a death foretold and 100 years of solitude (I love Gabriel Garcia Marquez). Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. I read a lot on applicable philosophy, Epictetus, Plato, Betrand Russell, the Epicureans, Montaigne etc. I also read a lot on religions and meditation. I've just added hard boiled mysteries to the list; authors such as Raymond Chandler and James M. Cain.

I want someone who loves to read and will read out loud to me.

I love comics. As I aged the subjects have changed but my enjoyment of comics have stayed the same. It began with a dream of being a superhero (age 7) and now I read mostly autobiographies. Writers: Frank Miller, Mark Millar, Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman. Artists: John Romita Jr., Frank Quitely, Sam Keith. And many many more.

Memento, Fight Club, The Matrix. I also like I <3 Huckabees, which is one of those "love it or hate it" movies, and i loved it.
Newsies, I'll admit. Watching movies is what I do with my father.

I stay away from watching t.v. I'd rather work out. But if I give in I found I love silly comedy such as Modern Family and South Park.

I play lots of European board games, like Settlers of Catan, Seven Wonders, Ra, etc I'm addicted (I love competition, but I'm not a poor sport) Cosmic Encounter!
(P.S. I have pretty much stopped playing games.)

I'm into retro games: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Super Ghouls and Ghosts, DDR! (man I was good at that). I don't own any of the new systems... don't have the time.
The six things I could never do without
1. My brother (I love the shit out of him)
2. My parents
3. I have these four great nephews... They are some of my favorite people in the world along with their parents.
4. A good sleep... like you just wake up and you feel wonderful.
