unforgettable, uber-unique, and German
My self-summary Propose an edit
I am a crazy, funny, nerdy guy. I LOVE the Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, and the Red Green Show (hail Duct
Tape!). But for just how fun-loving and wacky I can be at times, I
am equally capable of being serious.
If anyone does something silly or stupid, I will make fun of it in
a good natured way, and yes I can and do make fun of myself.
According to OKCupid, I am "more into sports than most". This is
only partly true. I'm a huge baseball fanatic...love watching it,
playing it (or softball, same difference), talking about it,
fantasy
baseball and etc. I play soccer and ultimate frisbee as well,
but I could care less about basketball and football. I am learning
more about football in order to better relate with other men.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I graduated from the University of Arizona
where I got a degree in Economics and German as my majors with a minor in math,
but I also have a strong interest in Photography Combined, they don't
make much sense, but I have diverse interests...including the
dropped minor of Art History.
I am currently hard at work in Mesa, doing statistics, data
management, and computer programming. Not all three at once though.
Don't worry, I have a fair bit of free time.
AND with that free time, I work out 3 days a week, and I am
volunteering with the youth and children's ministries at my church.
A fairly full, rich life, but there is still room for more friends!
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Stuff. I take some beautiful pictures (landscape/still-life type
stuff mostly, but I can do glamour shots if you REALLY want some).
I'm proficient at writing stories, although I'm probably better at
poetry (which takes less time anyways). Pretty good at math and
economics. Musically inclined...I play banjo, and guitar, although I am still in the
learning process.
I'd also like to think I am good at being a kind, sympathetic,
caring person, which is more important to me than any of the other
talents.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
They probably can perceive almost instantly that I am a geek, which
is then followed by the confusion as to why this geek looks like he
goes to the gym all the time.
They also notice how mature and intelligent I can be, and how I
carry myself, which leads to overestimations of my age. (I just got
my bachelors, and people at church were asking if I had got my PhD
or "just" my Master's.)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
(A) Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy, for it's bizarre
Victorian country humor, and perhaps the most realistic portrayal
of human characters I have ever read! I also love to read the
poetry of Robert
Frost because I, like him, am a Christian, Nature loving,
introspective person. He has inspired me in some good times, and in
the hard times, I find solace in some of his works.
(B) The
Princess Bride (Comedy, action, adventure, romance, ROUS, who
could ask for more). I like Michael Crichton's books, and those
movies made from his books which are NOT horrible abominations of
Hollywood taking liberties with the story. Crichton just knows how
to keep a story interesting. Star Wars (the originals, mostly III
was pretty good). Airplane, Naked Gun, anything by Mel Brooks, or Zucker/Abrahams,
because a good silly movie just brings a smile to my face every
time!
(C) I have eclectic tastes. I like oldies, bluegrass, some country,
some pop, techno. Favorite bands include Fleetwood Mac, Eagles,
Chris Thile, Tim O'Brien, Allison Krauss + Union Station, Josh
Turner, and although not really a band, the people who write DDR
music. Also, I love the music of John Williams. Genius!
Melody is incredibly important to me, but so is energy. The energy
of the song should match the subject matter (I laugh hillariously
at a particularly upbeat break up song called "Still Feeling
Blue"). Most of all, I love to see/hear virtuosos playing with all
their might.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Water. And not in the "but it's necessary to survive" way. I drink
at least a gallon a day in the summer, and 2 liters or more a day
in the winter. I have one of the large 2.2 Liter bottles and take
it almost everywhere.
ChapStick. If I am halfway to work and realize I left my chapstick
at home, I will think long and hard about whether or not to turn
back and get it.
Exercise. Without it, I feel fat and lazy. I might eventually be
able to do without exercise, but it would be a difficult
transition.
Mental Challenges. Be they riddles, tough projects at work, or a
rousing debate amongst friends, I love to think hard.
Humor. Don't take life too seriously...nobody gets out alive!
Friends. They make bad times okay, and good times better.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Why I do the things I do? What makes me the person I am now, what
do I want to become, and how do I get there? How can I improve my
fantasy baseball teams?
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
