My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a geek, by which I mean that I have a few things that I'm interested in, and I tend to delve deeply into each one at the expense of a breadth of experience. I can usually manage to have three such interests at a time, with one slot being permanently taken by my writing and another by whichever Facebook game has grabbed my fancy this month.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I don't work in a cubicle, but it might as well be one. It's a job, and it pays the bills, which is really as much as anyone can ask for in this economy.

I spend much of my free time writing a book. It is not a novel.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Video games? I once won free rentals for a year by doing well at Donkey Kong Country, though I did not even score well enough to make it to regionals.

I'm not as devoted to games as I used to be, what with working 9-5 and all, but I can still put up a good show. If there's some sort of patterns or math that can be exploited to increase performance, I can usually figure that out and use it to my advantage. Many Facebook games suffer in this regard.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In person, it's probably my height, even though I don't consider myself to be exceptionally tall.

Over the internet, it tends to be one of various facial features.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
1 - Books) Ciaphas Cain, The Belgariad, the Tortall series, The Dresden Files

I am currently reading Godel, Escher, Bach, which came very highly recommended (by Harry Potter).

2 - Movies) Back to the Future, Groundhog Day, Bender's Big Score

Does anyone notice a theme here?

3 - Shows) Mythbusters, Tenchi Muyo!, Tsukikage Ran, Read or Die, Supernatural

4 - Music) Weird Al, TMBG, video game sound-tracks.

I do not enjoy background music while doing other things, though I can enjoy listening to music as an activity. Loud music makes it difficult for me to think, though.

5 - Food) Carne Asada Fries, fudge (not at the same time)

I enjoy pizza, hamburgers, and potato-based foods.

6 - Games) Final Fantasy, Zelda, Capcom vs SNK 2

I have enjoyed games of every genre, at various points throughout my life. If I had to specify a least favorite genre, though, it would probably be FPS; I haven't played a really great FPS since the N64 days.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1-4) Internet access
5) Running water, preferably hot
6) Public transit
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
... imaginary conversations with fictional characters.

... continuity.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I eat pizza with a knife and fork. I wash my hands frequently, and I really don't like to get them dirty.

Thrice in my life, I have stopped reading a book because I just didn't care anymore. I like reading, but there are a lot of books out there, and every bad one I quit leaves more time for reading the good ones.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
... you want to play Scrabble; or, even better, you want to teach me how to play an obscure board game that most people have never heard of.

... you are Lawful Good, or if the sum of your Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff aspects outweigh the sum of your Slytherin and Gryffindor aspects.

... you're on the Tumblr. I need more people to follow on the Tumblr.

... you're excited about The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

...and/or if you want to get coffee or something. I apparently enjoy meeting new people, these days.
