As I said I'm a big nerd. I like to talk about lots of nerdy stuff, philosophy, religion, economic theory. I'm also a political junky. I have my bachelor's in Political Science and History, and I love both subjects greatly. I read like crazy...well kind of anyway. A lot of the time I'm listening to audio books, which I argue counts just as much. I like that because I can be active while I do it. Going for a walk? Audio book! Riding my bike? Audio book! Driving my car? Audiobook! Well, you get the idea. And if you don't think they count, I'll have you know I also very much love my nook.
I like to keep an open mind on most things. My favorite quote was by Elbert Hubbard who said,"The recipe for perpetual ignorance is: be satisfied with your opinions and content with your knowledge." I try to live my life by that philosophy. This practice pertains to my intellectual endeavors, and to my relationships with people.
I have a bizarre love of bad jokes(groaners), absurdity, and cheesiness. I also have a serious side too that comes out when I open up to people. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, I despise rumors and gossip, and I try my best to be fair with people I see everyday. Like everybody, I have my shortcomings, but despite these I think I'm generally pretty likable and easy to get along with.
I am not religious(I'm agnostic actually), but I am something of a humanist. As such, my moral ideologies tend to be very compatible with a lot of religious folks. In fact some of my best friends are quite religious.
I love discussion. I have a fascination with understanding what makes people tick..What they believe, why they believe it. I'm very open with my opinions about religion and politics. But don't worry, I'm generally very accepting about what other people believe, and my favorite things to talk about aren't restricted to either of these taboo topics. :P
I should also warn, I tend to ask a lot of questions. Some people get annoyed at this practice, others seem to really appreciate it. If you happen to be somebody who enjoys your share of witty banter, I will likely enjoy your company.
