My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. I'm not into yoga, and I have half a brain. But seriously, I'm just trying to meet someone new and (one hopes!) interesting with whom I can spend time laughing and talking, sharing a few thoughts about life.

For my next song quote: "I do know one thing / Is where you are, is where I belong / I do know where you go / Is where I want to be."

For fun, I like to take long walks and have been known to compete in half-marathons. Or I might get in the car and see where it takes me--to Bisbee, Jerome, Sedona, or maybe Santa Barbara.

I"m originally from the New York metro area (I'm a Jersey girl, but I'm no Snookie or a Real Housewife) but love the weather here. If I could live anywhere, it would probably be Paris.

If you want to take a walk with me, come along on a road trip, or jet off to Paris, give me a holler.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Wondering how I got to the age I am--where did the time go? And I'm wondering what to do with the years I have left. I hope to spend them doing fun and interesting things with a fun and interesting person.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Spelling and proofreading. (That's my job.) Also, I'm good with animals, and I've been told I'm a good and sympathetic listener who asks good questions. (I try anyway...)

UPDATE: I hate to boast but... I just scored 100% on the Easily Confused Words test. I am an English genius, apparently. LOL
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile and my laugh. Or my eyes and very long eyelashes (thank you, Mother Nature).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Food--I'm a vegetarian. I like ethnic food--Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican...
Books--Mystery novels or suspense. I recently finished the Millennium series--The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the others in the series. Very absorbing. At the risk of sounding like jacket copy, I couldn't put them down.
Music--Fairly eclectic, but mostly classic rock. I have been known to enjoy classical music and also some country. I even have an Eminem song on my iPod.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My cat.
My iPod.
My phone.
My toothbrush.
My pillow.
Friends I can laugh with.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why some guys here think it's cool to send an inappropriate message to a woman as an icebreaker. Really?? Do you really think I'm going to react positively to that?? Fortunately, most men here are men, not overgrown teenaged boys. OK, rant over.....
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I might be having dinner with friends, unwinding from a long week and enjoying a dirty martini or two.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can get really cranky sometimes. Such as when people don't understand the part about "that you're willing to admit."

If you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain... if you're not much into health food, if you're into champagne... (but if you do like health food, that's OK, too).

You have a sense of humor and fun, interesting things to say... and maybe would be interested in my sense of humor and the things I have to say. Then, when we've exhausted all of that, we might find other ways to communicate. :) (FYI--I have no interest in being a cougar, so if you're younger than, say, 46, you might want to look for someone closer to your age. Also, I'm an agnostic, so if your profile refers to your faith in God--again, you might be better off with someone else.)
