My self-summary
I am not on this site to find a relationship, but I'd be glad to talk to people who share my interests. Some of the information below is probably very outdated, as I do not visit this site frequently anymore.

I'm a complete nerd. If you don't like nerds, you may as well stop reading here. ^_^

I am a professional game designer. I've worked on games like World of Warcraft, Starcraft II, Neverwinter, and Star Trek Online: Legacy of Romulus.

I'm the type of person who constantly dreams about the future, both in waking hours and sleep, and tries his best to make the more reasonable dreams come true. I have a passion for fiction, music, and pretty much any form of art. Sometimes, I feel like my life started with the Legend of Zelda or my first Dungeons and Dragons game, since medieval fantasy has come to define so much of my personality. The modern world still fascinates me as well; I enjoy studying people, which was one of my major sources for motivation in college. Philosophy and anthropology interest me a great deal. Learning in general is very important to me, and I tend appreciate people of a similar mindset very much.

I also have stairs in my house.

I am chivalrous, puissant, and inquisitive
What I’m doing with my life
I have a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from UCSB. I spent two years there after graduating from Los Angeles Pierce College, and I enjoyed it a great deal.

I currently work at a computer game company located at UCI. It's something of a "dream job" for me, and I'm loving it so far. I also write professionally for role-playing game books. I primarily focus on writing for darker fantasy settings, but I've done some light fantasy, horror, and science fiction as well.

I'm considering going back to college at some point for a higher degree in creative writing or anthropology. I'd like to teach at some point in the future, but only after I've written a novel or two.
I’m really good at
Dreaming, writing, running, surviving, leadership, and swordplay.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have fairly long, shiny black hair. It used to be "bishonen" length, but I was forced to cut it down about a year ago. I'm growing it back, but it's going to take a while.

In terms of my personality, I'm told I have a strong presence. I come across as being somewhat older than my actual age; this is not necessarily to imply that I'm the world's most mature person, however. I also try very hard to be a gentleman, which most people seem to find unusual. I've been smacked for holding a door for a lady more times than I can count - it really depends on the person. I've learned not to assume that chivalry is ideal in every situation, but I've tried to remember enough of it to treat the people who enjoy it properly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a) To name a few: A Song of Fire and Ice series, anything by Brandon Sanderson (such as Mistborn), Dragonlance series (esp. Chronicles and Legends), the Taltos novels, The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, The First Law trilogy, Forgotten Realms (esp. The Cleric Quintet and Time of Troubles novels), Ravenloft series, The Princess Bride, translated Chretien De Troyes romances (i.e. early Arthurian legends). I generally like reading anything involving mythology or high/dark fantasy.

b) The Princess Bride, Spaceballs, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Ring of the Nibelungs, Paradise Lost. I also tend to enjoy psychological thrillers, such as Momento and A Scanner Darkly.

c) A variety of odd music. A few examples: Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Offspring, Greenday, Sublime, Poe, Cranberries, Stratovarius, Lunatica, Ayreon, Epica, Dragonforce, Dream Evil, Conjure One, and practically any celtic or classical music. I also enjoy a great deal of video game music (such as Nobou Uematsu's work).

d) Pasta, chicken, steak, seasoned potatoes, gingersnaps, chocolate.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I daydream frequently, but I also spend a lot of time thinking about more mundane concerns like work. I spend a lot of time trying to figure out ways to work out my personal flaws, but I also try to think about what I can do to help my friends and family. Most of my motivation comes from a desire to help the people I care for and that reflects strongly on my daily thoughts.

Of course, I'm also guilty of one of Neal Stephenson's greatest lines from Snow Crash. "Up until a man is twenty-five, he still thinks, every so often, that under the right circumstances he could be the baddest motherfucker in the world."

I'll admit it - I think I'd conquer the world with ease if I had my superpowers of choice. Ahh, well. That's what daydreaming is for.
On a typical Friday night I am
If I'm not on overtime at work, I'm usually out camping. And by camping, I mean I'm in the middle of the forest hitting my friends with ridiculous looking foam weapons. Yes, I LARP. Scared yet?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I enjoy sleeping far more than I have any right to. If I didn't have a lot of work to do, I'd probably sleep 12 hours a day.
