Hello there. My name is Sam. Some people ask me what's it short for, and I say, "Well, it's only three letters long." Zing! Most of my buddies call me Sammy (which happens to be short for Sam). I've had my share of ups and downs, and though we all have our pasts, I'm the kind of guy that forgives and moves on. I still trust people and give them the benefit of the doubt. (No, not to the point of naiveté.)
I enjoy entertaining myelf at home, but I will also go out with friends, and may even have a couple of drinks with the crew if I am not the designated driver of the evening. I'll sing and dance and enjoy myself, and will playfully encourage my peers to do the same.
I am a well-mannered gentleman who has a need to make people comfortable and lack for nothing. I am liberal with my concern for others' well being, and I protect that which I hold dear. I provide for those I love and would rather choose to spend money on memorable experiences that are shared with loved ones than piss it away on trivial things that don't matter. Incidentally I'm not really into gambling or binge drinking, or other activities that can drain your life rather than enrich it.
I enjoy games of all sorts, whether they are board games, card games, dice games, video games, or role-playing games (like D&D and Star Wars RPG). Yes, I'm a geek. I like to take in the occasional live sports game, but I'm not a superfan. I read for fun, and enjoy fantasy and science-fiction primarily, with the occasional mystery or classic tossed in, but I'll give any book a chance if it is recommended to me. My buddy recently recommended Begin to Exit Here by John Welter, and it was pretty awesome.
I have a poet's heart, and sometimes convey my thoughts in written form. I like waking to the feel of sunshine on my face, as well as hunkering down in sun-dappled blankets on a lazy day off. I like to close my eyes and listen to the storm as rain pounds relentlessly on the roof above. I appreciate the darkness before dawn and the enchanted colors of twilight. I like to walk barefoot on grass and I like wet sand between my toes. I enjoy the imagery of prose and poetry and tend to be verbose when writing... nawww... you think? ;)
I was raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. The islands are a beautiful place to explore, and I'd love to go back and see everything and visit everyone again. I can remember times when my nightlight was a 1,500 ft. tall lava fountain that painted the sky a ruddy orange.
