EDIT: Seeing someone now, but always on the lookout for new show buddies.

Computer Geek / Musician - but not one of those "That record deal is just around the corner, so just help me out with rent for a few more months" musicians.

I'm a music fanatic, a movie nerd, a comic book reader, and I'll even pull out the dice and throw down some d20s. I also behave myself in polite company and don't talk about orcs to the normals.

I like to talk - a lot. I do stupid things sometimes just to have a good story to tell or a fun song to write, and if you've got a story to match or top me, then we're going to have a blast.

I love a good burger, but I was raw vegan for a while, and have no issues w/ vegetarians/vegans, as long as it goes both ways.

I'm a firm believer in equal rights, and try to be active in the community, as many of my friends (and some exes) are in the LGBT / feminist scene. That being said, I do love to drop a good C-bomb on the table here and there with a smile.

I love my jeans and band t-shirts, but style-wise have dated everyone from fashonista on down to found this shirt in a box somewhere and it has a cool logo on it. To each their own.

I swear like a sailor, but again - not around the normals.

I play in a number of local bands and spend a lot of time out at clubs booking, playing, or watching shows. Despite that, I don't drink much anymore - but boy can I tell you stories about when I did. I also don't do any hard drugs - but again, boy can I tell you stories about when I did.

Currently sitting at ten tattoos and down to three piercings, so if you're not into body art, I'm probably not the guy.

I currently have stupid hair, and should we meet up I hope you laugh at it as much as I do on a daily basis. I cut it from waist length to stubble to donate to LoL, and it is currently taking out its revenge as it grows back out.

EDIT: Stupid hair is now not quite as stupid, but you can still laugh at it if you like.

Ok, let's wrap this up. I like music, books, and movies. If you do, that's awesome. I'm a little chubby and have a lot of tattoos and piercings. If you do as well, that's awesome. If none of these apply, but you want to hang out and be like "See, I'm awesome, too!", then that sounds like a blast.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working to pay the bills, playing / attending as many shows as possible, trying to read every book and watch every movie that I can, meeting people, and telling them dumb stories.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Screaming nonsense into a microphone, and talking too much - see my "summary" above for an example of that.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Eyelashes, then my beard, then my facial piercings, and then the fact that I smile a lot more than someone with this beard and facial piercings should smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

So very many - we'd be here all day. So, a summary:

Books: Bukowski, Tolkein, Burroughs, lots of older sci-fi, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, a lot of non-fiction about various religions, biographies, and pulp crime novels from the 30s-50s.

Movies: Anything by Kurosawa, most Miike films, tons of strange little foreign films that bore people to tears, and odd little horror movies that no one else seems to watch but me. I also watch way more documentaries than anyone should probably admit to. I cut my movie collection down from 3500 to around 500 over the past few years, so I'm always looking for new suggestions.

TV: I'm a sucker for a good BBC comedy - Snuff Box, Black Books, IT Crowd, Mitchell and Webb. Studied animation history for a while, so I have a love for cartoons and anime. And a good sci-fi show, like Alphas or Orphan Black is always on my hard drive for multiple re-watching.

Music: Almost everything - my favorites change constantly, with the exception of a few mainstays. I would marry Tom Waits' voice, the Ramones changed my world, Nick Cave made me weep like a little girl at his last show, and I sing Girl In A Coma songs in the shower, even though they're out of my range.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Since "books" is more than one thing, a library card.
- Since "music" is more than one thing, let's say a Spotify account.
- Some form of stringed instrument - guitar, bass, uke, banjo.
- A sense of humor.
- People to tell stupid stories and use that sense of humor on.
- The ability to make up lists while only feeling mildly idiotic.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Song Lyrics.
- Movies That Are Missing From My Collection.
- Where Am I Going To Fit My Next Haul From Half Price Books.
- Comic Book Arguments.
- Whatever Just Came Up On Wikipedia When I Hit Random.
- Whether or not fat bottom girls really make the rockin' world go round, and how to best test this theory.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working late - it's my one late work night of the week - and then off for dinner downtown, and then to either see or play a show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once told my friends that they were idiots if they didn't think that the Spin Doctors were at the time, and always would be, the greatest band in the history of music. So ashamed.

EDIT: Really? Upset emails about The Spin Doctors? Haha.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- You're looking for a show buddy. You can never have enough show buddies.

- You want to watch a bunch of low budget horror flicks and rate them based on the quality of the fake blood.

- You love a tipsy card/board game night playing Munchkin, Cards Against Humanity, or D&D with a group of sarcastic loudmouths as much as you do going out on the town.

- You love hanging out and spending time with someone, but can find a way to amuse yourself if/when they're not around.

- You want to send me the most off the wall opening email that you can think of. My favorite so far? "Let's go eat. Then when we're done we can go get some food!" - ummm, no. But bonus points for originality and making me laugh.
