My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I think the most important things in the world are compassion, kindness, and understanding. I love singing, writing, reading, and being offbeat and quirky.

Other interests include psychology, musicals, acting, beading, Tibet, penguins, cats, shoes, and playing improv games.

I love The Wizard of Oz more than most people. If I were going to live in a movie, I'd want to live in that one.

My favorite color is orange and if I could be anything at all, I would want to be a mermaid.

One day I will be a crazy cat lady. I'm looking forward to it, just a little bit.

I am literary, compassionate, and indescribable.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Short answer: Living. Existing. Being present.

Long answer: I was in grad school for an MFA in creative writing, but I realized that wasn't what I wanted, so now I'm back in Northampton working as a para at a public elementary school in a program for kids on the autism spectrum. I spend a lot of time singing, writing, and daydreaming.

Eventually, I think I'm interested in education in some form. I do have a special place in my heart for group settings like jails, shelters, and mental health facilities, and I'm interested in exploring ways to use the arts to express and heal. I work with incarcerated women and girls, doing writing workshops with them, and I love it.

My dream job would probably involve using the arts to work with at-risk kids while in the company of animals, and in my free time I would do lots of writing and sing in as many choruses/ensembles/companies as I could.

...But in the meantime I'm trying to save money and figure out how all of that is actually going to happen.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing. Writing. Psychology. Being awkward. Caring about people. Being nostalgic. Over-booking myself. Over-analyzing things and psyching myself out.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably either my super-curly hair or whatever bright and colorful combination of clothing I'm wearing that day...but I've also been known to walk around singing and to stop what I'm doing for any cat I see.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, Things Fall Apart, Like Water for Chocolate, The Stranger (L'Etranger), When I was Puerto Rican, Girl Interrupted, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, Catcher in the Rye, Giovanni's Room, and anything by David Sedaris. I absolutely love magical realism. Really I'm just a big English nerd and I love talking about literature and various literary concepts.

Movies: The Wizard of Oz, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Motorcycle Diaries, Across the Universe, The Artist, Crash, Gandhi, Kissing Jessica Stein, Juno, Camp, The Hours, Chocolat, Little Miss Sunshine, Como Agua para Chocolate, Mujeres al Borde de un Ataque de Nervios, Love Actually, RENT, Hairspray, March of the Penguins, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, Happy Feet, Shrek, Best in Show, Father of the Bride, Chicago, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Better than Chocolate, In and Out, Amelie, Girl Interrupted

Music: Gold Motel, The Hush Sound, OneRepublic, Bastille, The Shins, Coldplay, The Postal Service, Sara Ramirez, V. V. Brown, Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz, The Cranberries, Ace of Base, Simon and Garfunkel, KT Tunstall, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Dar Williams, ...I also enjoy classical music and I have a deep love of Latin and Celtic music. I have to be careful with Latin music, though, because it makes me want to dance, and I'm a terrible dancer. I love a cappella music, weird and unknown world music, and anything I can sing along to.

TV: Criminal Minds, Luther, American Horror Story, Parks & Recreation, Grey's Anatomy, Friends, The Simpsons (seasons 1-12 or so, really), South Park, Whose Line is It Anyway (the original, not the reboot), Monty Python's Flying Circus

Food: sushi, ice cream, pancakes, anything pumpkin, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Mexican...I like food. I like cooking it and I like eating it.

P.S. I also love musicals.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Coffee
2. Food
3. Music
4. Cats
5. Love
6. Expression
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The state of the world and what we can do about it. Peace. The future. Mortality. Pursuing happiness. Freeing Tibet. Cuddling with cats. Swimming in the ocean. Mermaids. Food.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Thinking it would be fun either to go out for drinks and karaoke or to stay in doing MadLibs and eating ice cream.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a fangirl. I read and write fanfiction and the phrase "I ship it like burning" makes perfect sense to me. We all have celebrity crushes; let's be real.

Also, I am a hopeless romantic. Cheesy, cliche expressions are probably the fastest way to my heart. In the absence of those, puns will also do the job.

I'm pretty sure I don't want kids. I'm not, like, a billion percent sure I don't want them, but the idea of them just doesn't excite me, and I don't want to enter into a relationship where kids absolutely have to happen. It definitely makes dating harder, but it's just...who I am, y'know?

I'm complicated and that's okay.

all the stuff you've read thus far doesn't make you run away screaming and you'd like to get to know me.

(You get extra points if you know what Spoonerisms are.)

P.S. I am not interested in meeting couples or in being the third member of a relationship. If that's what you're looking for, please look elsewhere.
