I am kind, easygoing, and sarcastic.

My Self-Summary

Summarize myself? Well, here goes. I'm upbeat yet laid-back, quiet but with what I'd like to think of as a disarming sense of humor. I love reading, sports, and animals. I love hanging out with my friends though I'm not one that's usually into the clubbing scene. I love watching movies at home or in theaters, or cruising the bookstores. I enjoy talking about pretty much any topic under the sun from history and politics to quoting lines from MASH. While I may be hard-of-hearing I try not to let that hold me back, even if I do sometimes let my fingers do the talking!

What I’m doing with my life

Currently in the field of Deaf Education. Working with the kiddies is entertaining and it's certainly never boring!

I’m really good at

Well there's several things I'm really good at, but I'm not sure they qualify as a talent. I'm usually pretty good at getting people to laugh though. I consider that a plus!

The first things people usually notice about me

"You have really big blue eyes!"

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books? Way too many to list. I'll try though: The Odyssey, To Kill a Mockingbird, Good Omens, Artemis Fowl, Of Mice and Men, Princess Diaries, Edgar Rice Burroughs, etc. It's a wide and varied taste here.

Movies are pretty much the same. Boondock Saints, Dogma, Life is Beautiful, While You Were Sleeping, Princess Bride, Pirates of Penzance and far too many others.

Music: also a pretty good range U2, Steadman, Beatles, lots of random other music. I love music. What's a life without music?

The six things I could never do without

1. My family--without them I would never be where I am, much less who I am

2. Music-- this may seem odd from me, but I wear hearing aids, and I hear music. Some notes aren't always there anymore and someday they'll be gone so I'm going to listen to them as much as I can.

3. Books-- the written word is my friend and these buddies of mine take me anywhere I want to go.

4. Movies-- Because everyone needs a way to unwind

5. Friends-- They say if you have 3 really good friends you never need a therapist. So far so good!

6. Pets-- Because sometimes people are just too hard to figure out.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How does Iraq recover from the war?
How do WE recover from the war?
What do we do about the Healthcare system?
Why is there zinc oxide in my cereal?
If I don't stop thinking about this stuff, I'm never going to sleep am I?

On a typical Friday night I am

Probably staying in unless my friends take me out with them. I've said before, I'm not really much for the club scene. I love bookstores and movies though!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I think I come off too quiet when people meet me at first. I like to think that changes and I'm worth the little effort that it takes.
