My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Oh, I don't know. I exist. I'm friendly, relatively intelligent, and I like to start conversations with new people. I can be pretty sarcastic. I'm good at reading emotions. I'm awful at math and science, but I could discuss Shakespearean theory with you. I like to write letters. Sometimes I like rain better than a sunny day. I really like animals of all kinds. I try not to judge, but everyone makes mistakes. I'm an awful klutz. Sometimes I spend hours and hours reading great books, and sometimes listening to awful music. I try to be honest about my faults and humble about my accomplishments. I've always been a writer at heart. I'm not the best at a quick spoken retort, but sometimes I can write what I couldn't say. I don't know how to write these descriptions. I worry constantly about what people think of me. I'm pretty terrific at worrying. Is that a skill?
ENFP, in case anyone is curious.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Ever since I graduated college I really wanted to be in publishing. And I applied for everything and got nothing, so I worked in retail. I was almost starting to lose hope when I finally got my first real publishing job. I realize that you don't actually care but it's super exciting to me that I get to say I work in publishing.
Incidentally, I live on long island but I work in the city. In case that's important to anyone.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing. I'm not that great at knitting, but I'm not awful. I like to bake and cook as well- I enjoy trying out new recipes. My "specialties" (also known as the things my family bugs me to make for them) are chicken cutlets and meatballs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I get a lot of comments on my eyes. They are a color. People like colors. It's a crowd pleaser.

Now that I have red hair, that's the new thing everyone comments on. The conversation usually goes like this:
"I love your hair!"
"Thanks! It's totally from a box."
"What????!!? I can't believe it!"
"Yup. Definitely a natural blonde."
*excessive amount of shock and awe*
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Tea
2. Books
3. Music
4. Occasionally standing in a down pour
5. A peaceful place in nature
6. A gin and tonic every once in a while

These are not necessarily in the right order, or at all accurate.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Books, generally, or music. I always appreciate a book or band recommendation.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Does anyone actually have a typical Friday night? Like is there some Friday night recipe that I'm missing out on? I feel like I missed the memo. My Friday nights can include being at a bar or a club with friends, at home watching TV, or making dinner. Any or none of the above may apply. Use as directed. Results may vary.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm double jointed, but only in my left thumb. And I have one slightly pointed ear (looks a bit like an elf)- which is also on my left side. I have no interpretation for this. I'm weird, but only on my left side?
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you're nice to wait staff, if you hold the door for the person behind you, if you get that thing off the really high shelf. If you don't mind watching the occasional star trek marathon. Or law and order. I love that show.

Chiefly, you should message me if you're interested, because I really really hate messaging first. If you don't send copy and pasted messages. Sidebar: do guys actually like when the woman messages first? I have actually done it a few times and every single time it has not worked out well.

If you send me just "hey," or "hey how r u," or "you're hot," or some derivative this is your fair warning that I will either ignore it or have fun at your expense. Also, people keep asking me what Shakespearean theory is and it makes me really sad. Google is your friend, guys.

I'm sort of severely sarcastic, so hopefully you're into that.
