I like movies, music (listening - and learning a little bass), poker, photography, philosophy... just about anything that will spark my interest. I love to learn and think, and dedicate a great deal of my life to doing just that!

I'm just going to get this out of the way right now: I think I'm pretty awesome. You probably won't find a more loyal, honest, caring, and understanding guy out there. I believe in the empowerment of women, and a huge part of that is listening to and respecting your feelings, wants, and needs.

I'm currently pretty busy. I'm a student majoring in social work, I work at a homeless shelter in the area, and I volunteer as an advocate for victims of sexual violence. During the summer I am a wedding photographer, but that doesn't keep me fed during the off season. All this keeps me pretty busy, but it is all also very rewarding, so I am really happy!

Cracking inappropriate jokes, and every now and then an appropriate one. Discussing philosophy and politics and art and poetry, though I can tend to let my passions about such things override my manners sometimes. Analyzing movies.
Cooking. Everyone I know LOVES to eat anything that I make. I considered cooking professionally for a while, but that life is just not for me; I need something more laid back, and everyone I have ever met that works in a kitchen has been crazy. Good crazy, of course, but crazy none the less.

I'm also really good at games. I tend to have a strategic mind, so I enjoy games like Pandemic, Arkham Horror, BSG, and other board games. I like Magic, but don't get to play it that often. Video games too, but I would much prefer playing a game where more people can join in.

People usually say I am a consummate host - always willing and able to welcome people and that I have an ability to make people comfortable.
One friend said that I'm the only person she knows who actually has eyes that twinkle when I smile.

Books: I tend to read only a couple of genres. Fantasy/Sci-Fi (Terry Goodkind, Tolkien, R.A. Salvatore, Douglass Adams, Frank Herbert etc.), Philosophy (Camus, Nietzsche, Hegel, Foucault, Sartre, etc), and some classics (Sherlock Holmes in particular).

Movies: I tend to like anything that is not blatantly mediocre. The worst sin a movie can make is to not impress, one way or another. Movies need to be either great or terrible, or so terrible they are great. An incomplete list of movies I like is: La Jetee, The Seventh Seal, The Silence, No Country For Old Men, Kung Fu Hustle, Kung Pow, any Jackie Chan, Metropolis (the 1927 one, not the shitty anime), Talk to Her, Eraserhead, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Star Wars, Scarface, etc etc etc.

TV Shows: Same qualifier as with movies - really good or really bad. House, Star Trek (all of em), X Files, Twin Peaks, Doctor Who (new and old), Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, The Sopranos, Torchwood, The IT Crowd, Keeping Up Appearances and just about any Brit-com.

Music: Changes rather frequently. Charles Mingus, Jethro Tull, Bella Fleck (really just the Flecktones, not a huge fan of his solo work), AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Nin, Grateful Dead, Leon Redbone, Johnny Cash, and a boatload of other stuff.

Food? Don't get me started!! I love to cook, so my list of favorite foods could go on for miles!

Someone to help, good music, chicken nuggets, a shoulder to lean on (only sometimes), good TV, hot sauce

Feminism, gender equality, relationships, being happy.

Working, or playing. One or the other!

I do like to play video games when I can. I'm pretty busy, but when I get the chance it is pretty fun way to relax. I would really love to find someone that enjoys games too. Chillin with someone else, playing xbox or ps3 is pretty damn fun.

I think I'm pretty funny, and make myself laugh all the time. I actually get a little embarrassed sometimes because I catch myself laughing at my own jokes, and I'm told that is a terrible thing to do.
