My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to Tampa from Canada about 15 years ago and I really enjoy it here. The weather is great, there is a huge variety of things to do, and people are diverse and interesting. It seems like it's fairly easy to get to know people here because so many people are from somewhere else.

I am looking to meet someone who likes to go to movies and concerts, talk about things going on in the world, visit Florida's many attractions, and enjoy life with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at a telecommunications company. I generally enjoy my work, although my goal is to have my own consulting company someday.

I recently bought a house and most of my time has been spent working on repairs, buying furniture, and decorating.

I'm thinking about getting a dog, but I do work long hours and I don't know that it would be fair to the dog to be away all day.

Right at the moment I'm having a drink to celebrate the Supreme Court's ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act. I don't think it will be much longer until we stop discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I believe I am fairly empathetic and can tell what people (and animals) are feeling. I think I'm pretty good at listening. I'm tolerant of different people and their opinions and can get along with most people. I'm also fairly good at ping pong and Guitar Hero.
The first things people usually notice about me

Hockey is aboot the best sport in the world, eh?

Seriously, people probably notice how incredibly athletic I am. Back when I was 19, I could drink an entire Coke Super Big Gulp in under 60 seconds. My body isn't what it was back then; my treadmill has reduced my stomach capacity. But I am still very competitive.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I like movies, and I just put together a nice A/V system for watching them. My 430 watt, 26-180 Hz 12" subwoofer shakes the whole house (insert grunting noises from Home Improvement here). My favorite movie is The Blues Brothers. Other favorites are The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Love Actually, Dark Knight, Ferris Bueller, Ocean's Eleven, Inception, A Fish Called Wanda, and The Avengers. I am currently enjoying the House of Cards series.

I like most pop music from the 80's and newer. I enjoy going to concerts, and I've seen Lady Gaga, Cher, The Proclaimers, Chris de Burg, Sting, and many others. I like my music kind of loud. :-) I'm not really a big rap fan, although it does sound good sometimes when it's mixed in (e.g. Pitbull and Christina Aguilera).

My favorite restaurants are Charlie's Steakhouse and Harry's Seafood (Lakeland). I enjoy dining out and I like almost all kinds of food.

I like theme parks - Busch Gardens, Universal, Disney, Sea World, etc. I especially enjoy roller coasters - my favorite is a coaster in California called "X" (it's now called X2) - the world's first 4th dimension coaster.

I also like Las Vegas - a theme park for adults.

I loved the ending of HIMYM. It got a lot of criticism, but during the entire show it seemed like Robin and Ted belonged together. The real reason Ted was telling the story to his kids was so he could get their blessing to go after Robin. What a wonderful show!

I just started watching Game of Thrones... another great show.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. TiVo.
2. Caffeine.
3. A 430 watt, 26-180 Hz 12" subwoofer.
4. Zombie movies.
5. Cheetah Hunt.
6. Lemi Shine. Seriously, it's great at getting rid of that hard water residue.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The pace that technology is improving is amazing. Take, for example, the new Dunkin' Donuts Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich. Donuts are an amazing food, and bacon on anything is delicious. But who was the genius who thought to put the two together? I think this will go down in history with the same impact as Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Hmmm... maybe we could add bacon to them?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I used to watch Melrose Place.

You are smokin' hot, you've won a couple of Oscars, and your name is Anne Hathaway or Lady Gaga.

Even better is if you are a genuinely good person who would like to hang out with an imperfect but nice guy who will try to make you happy.
