I am snarky, high energy, and intelligent.

My Self-Summary

I am Andrea. I am an incredibly social person who thrives on witty banter and intellectual conversation. I just finished my MA at UChicago (yay!), where not surprisingly socializing wasn't high on the priority list. I moved here from LA, but I love Chicago, particularly the snow, and am enjoying all the exploring. I'm all for suggestions of places to see! I am a language snob, I like to be silly and frequently laugh til I cry, and I love nothing more than sitting around with friends eating food I just cooked and talking til the wee hours of the night. Except maybe going out dancing. I like to watch football and scream at the TV, but I don't really follow one particular team. I think having an intellectual debate is sexy.

What I’m doing with my life

It remains to be seen what I'm doing with my life in the long run. For now, I am volunteering, job hunting, and having an amazing time with my friends. I am checking things off my "Life To Do" list and always adding more. I'm trying to find the best possible way to go about improving the world.

I’m really good at

Cooking, listening, hugs, policy analysis, gift giving/wrapping/advice, witty retorts and snarky come-backs. Collages. Packing suitcases. Brilliant papers that are complete bullshit. Being a sister and pseudo-auntie. Naming my inanimate objects (my bike, Franz Wilhelm von Bismarck is arguably the best to-date).

The first things people usually notice about me

My laugh.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The lists are endless, and lets be honest...not so fun to read. So here are a few that I happen to be able to think of:
Books: 100 Years of Solitude, Pride and Prejudice, Namesake, Harry Potter
Movies: Requiem for a Dream, Fargo, Pride and Prejudice, Memento, Love Actually
Music: U2, Less than Jake, Snow Patrol, Pepper, RHCP
Food: Jew food, soy ice cream, home-made anything really. I LOVE to cook and bake and experiment, and my friends and family are excellent guinea pigs.

The six things I could never do without

1. My glasses
2. My friends
3. My sister
4. Quality reading material
5. A well stocked kitchen
6. Hugs

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Job hunting, my friends/family...

How to make the world a better place! Cheesy, but true.

When and where I will go on my next adventure. Who will come with me.

How I can spend a lot of time outside before winter comes back, and how I can incorporate as many of my favorite outdoor activities into one day as humanly possible.

Farmers markets.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out with my friends! We are doing our patriotic duty and stimulating the economy in a variety of ways, most of which involve some sort of drinking and/or eating. I should be job hunting. Don't tell.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

The internet is not the best place for this...is it?! I'm an unbelievably open person, in person.

You should message me if

You think we would have fun together, you're smart and witty, and emotionally available. Everyone's got baggage- I'm looking for baggage that goes with mine!
