Creepy Bulges and Barnum's Axiom
Nov 21, 2009
Okay, what's with this recent crop of banner ads promising to get me "Ripped In 4 Weeks"? They're even on OkC now (at least if you're male - any corroboration from women here? I hope not?), and they're probably even more annoying/ridiculous/an indictment of the stinking wasteland of mainstream American culture than the Evony ads that preceded them.
It's a given that these supplements are probably a scam - apart from the biology/physics involved, the linked page has two screens' worth of fine print hanging off the bottom, mostly dealing with deferred liability and credit card autocharges.
Secondly, though - and most importantly - even if these products work, I do not desire a CARNIVAL BOD. Men's nipples should not point downward. End of story.
And they probably work about as well as those pills that promise to get rid of women's belly fat in 10 magical days. That is, they probably don't work at all.
