My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First, I'm not looking for anything except maybe random people to talk to at strange hours. I have a significant other. I am here for the quizzes. Get it? Got it? Good.

I'm a PPCer--a member of the Protectors of the Plot Continuum, an online fanfic policing force. I like reading, roleplaying, and medieval weaponry. I think that Terry Pratchett and Monty Python are hilarious. See below for more thorough explanations.

Things that irritate me: Prejudice, people who are rude or cruel for "fun", profanity/vulgarity, the color pink and other overly fluffy "feminine" accoutrements, too-macho posturing, people abusing other people (physically, psychologically, or verbally), animals, their environment, and/or books, alcohol, drug, or tobacco use. Whee.

The value of freedom, like air, is best recognized in its absence. --Jim Semmelroth

I just finished up a BA in Humanities and Cultural Studies and a MLIS (Master's in Library and Information Studies). I work at a small public library and will give your children books and other media that make them think. Fear me.

I am bookwormish, obsessive, and easily amused.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a librarian. See above. I write fanfiction (often slash--m/m or f/f pairings) and original fiction and poetry. I am a member of the SCA ( I'm a heavy fighter in training.

The library didn't only contain magical books, the ones which are chained to the shelves and are very dangerous. It also contained perfectly ordinary books, printed on commonplace paper in mundane ink. It would be a mistake to think that they weren't also dangerous just because reading them didn't make fireworks go off in the sky. Reading them sometimes did the more dangerous trick of making fireworks go off in the privacy of the reader's brain. --Terry Pratchett. Soul Music.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Spelling, grammar, getting strange looks from normal people, reading, nitpicking, singing, declaiming... (If I think of anything else, I'll add it.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm tall. I dress oddly, especially when given an excuse like Hallowe'en. I am somewhat androgynous.

I am a geek and proud of the fact.

Queer. adj. Strange, unusual, odd.

Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, music, trees, water, mountains, the people I love.

Secondary to these: My sword Scathach, my computer, notebooks and writing implements, my green blanket.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Completely random stuff. I had a long, detailed discussion with a friend once about the geological consequences of the earth being used as a pool ball.

Gender identification, sexual orientation, and feminism. Kindly do not attempt to use this as a chance to chat me up about sex.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Reading, writing, sleeping, goofing off with friends, a movie, and/or lots of sugar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I spend lot of my free time hanging out on a Star Trek RPG board. It rocks.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to: complain about the horrors perpetrated by the film industry when they get hold of good book, have a critique session about superhero comics (I love them, but they have issues), complain about my attitudes (I can always use a laugh--try and spell your rants correctly), report bad fanfiction (especially based on Shakespeare, Lord of the Rings, or Pirates of the Caribbean), inform me about new and interesting poisons and their effects.

If you don't have anything interesting to say, bugger off.
